Good luck.  Could be tough following a legend, especially one who was forced out by the Sheridan administration.

He was probably the best case scenario. Was Associate Head Coach last year, and already has a relationship with the kids.

The whole hiring process was a joke.  The AD hired the puppet she wanted.  After 47 years of affiliation with the program at Sheridan, I will never set foot on that property again as long as they have the current administration in place.  This was never a school board issue, it was an admin issue.

To hire a coach with zero head coaching experience and two years as an assistant, who will not work in the building, just shows you how underhanded this process was.

A sad day indeed.

Were there any openings that could get a coach into the building?  Small schools sometimes struggle to hire you typical "teacher coach" when they don't have a position to offer with the job or that position is one that is nontraditional for a coach to have on their teaching license.

Yes, they have openings and would have been able to hire a teacher/coach.  They chose to hire someone with no head coaching experience who will not work in the building or in education at all.

What's even more crazy is that they had a miracle applicant who has more than a decade of head coaching experience and program building who didn't even get a second interview.  A person well respected by coaches across the entire state.  Never heard one negative thing ever said when their name comes up.  Truly mind blowing.

Juicy.  Wonder who that miracle candidate was.

Just keep the name of said candidate off here, along with more detailed hints that might make it obvious.

Thanks

Thoughts rumors were a no go but it seems like he has a confirmed source that an interview occurred ?

Not a news source though, or a link to the story. Now, if that coach himself posts on social media, ok.

Just observing from afar ...maybe, just maybe - since this guy had been on staff and been the "Associate Head Coach" (is that what the article stated?), perhaps there was a push from players that they wanted him to be HC. Ya know, kind of like a Marcus Freeman type deal?

I will not reveal name, too much respect for him.  Just disappointed.
