Point me in the right direction.

Not hard to look, think the archives go back several years, which included you giving me crap over the Hoosiers and how bad they were

@Bobrefcould you help us as to the why Notre Dame was shunned from conferences way back when?

Afraid I can’t shed any light on that.

Thank you.  I will look further for the validity of the claims I read about.  It had something to do with “shunning” Notre Dame b/c of Catholic religion.  This goes back to the late 1800, early 1900s.  Was the B1G once called The Western Conference?   Something along those lines.

Guess I should have said that in my younger years to all of the Irish fans when they won the natty in 1988…

Apathy is a real thing and most just don't understand how pathetic IU's program has been for the last half century. IU has always had fans, diehards even, but it's just really tough to make a full blown investment into a product that the administration neglected for as long as they have re: "Why should I care if the people running it don't care"? The 60 minutes clip last night shed some good light on just how far behind IU was amongst its peers even as little as two years ago.

Watching IU football is like watching paint dry. It’s also like Groundhog Day over and over and over again…

How many of us on this board are graduates of the football program that we root for?

Are you a Michigan man? Walmart Wolverine?

If being a grad of said school is necessary to support their football team, that would eliminate 95%+ of ND fans and about 90% of Ohio State fans.  (unless mullets are the choice of hairstyle for OSU grads)

I am not an alum of IU...neither degree from there.  But grew up about 20 miles from Bloomington and started watching games at Memorial Stadium as a kid and throughout my life.  All 3 of my children are IU alumni, so my investment there has been fairly significant.  Does that count?

So we agree.  Thanks.

not sure what I am agreeing to...if I am agreeing that one doesn't need to be a grad to be a fan, then I am onboard.

Precisely.

Just curious, what’s the IU/ND equivalent of a “WalMart Wolverine?”

And you root for two programs (Penn and Notre Dame) who haven’t won titles since the invention of the iPhone.

Penn State is my 3rd favorite program.  Besides IU, have seen a few games in both South Bend and Happy Valley.

Have this famous print of Rick Mirer and Reggie Brooks looking into the Penn State Defense in my basement.  Loved the old rivalry these teams used to have years ago

Another irrelevant program.  You really know how to pick em!

Imagine being obsessed with the Michigan "scandal" and then openly admitting that your "third favorite program" (can't believe I actually typed that) is a program that enabled pedophilia for decades.

Its okay though, I am sure you balance it out by rooting fot Duke basketball, the LA Lakers and the New York Yankees...
