No question about it, he's good. Call him great if you want. I'll roll with very good for now.

It would seem a current Michigan assistant now interim head coach claims Michigan has been a mess over the past 5 years. That includes part of the Harbaugh tenure. Perhaps he sold out to get the big one??? Great coach?  Very good coach?

The whole thing really is just a mess. Jim Harbaugh = Pete Carroll. Too many rules at the college level for it to make sense for either of those guys. Better suited in the NFL.

Who is winning?

What is the goals here fellas?

Groundhog Day EVERYDAY

FYI:  JMU covered vs Oregon, would not call that a waste of a spot

The 3 closet ND friends off mine have been the most level headed about it all and have acted 100% opposite of the tone here

What else is left to discuss in the world of Michigan under Harbaugh and Merrone?    Think it's well covered, however Moore move on Instagram seems ..... interesting......

All my friends are level headed......................and also pissed. Not sure how you can be a true Notre Dame fan and not be pissed off about the best Irish team since 1993 not being in the playoffs. Hell, this years team is better than the one that played last year for the title. So yeah, I think the tone here is warranted.

What does JMU covering against Oregon have to do with whether them being in is a waste of time? It was a blowout. That equates to a waste of time.

Why give these mid majors false hope? They have 0% chance to win. I think the NCAA needs to discuss this with the AD's of all the mid majors. Ask them if they'd rather set themselves up for disaster in the CFPS, or have their own separate tournament all together. Think of the money stood to be made with two different tournaments.

I doubt there is a person on this forum who wouldn't watch 12 or 16 mid majors duke it out for supremacy in their weight class.

I can only speak for myself so I’ll do my best.  ND lost 2 games against teams that made the playoffs and they agreed to these terms.

Exactly what my inner ND peeps tell me as well.    They played, they lost, complain all you want about the rules of the process but they played by them and lost out..... they have all moved on it seems......

here, nope, the amount of same Rhetoric repeating itself over and over again....  ugh and quite honestly, boring

Maybe because I have been here so long, I literally knew the moment I came back to the laptop after not being on it since last Tuesday, last day of school for me, that when I clicked on all these threads in here, without reading a word I could of told anyone what was said and by who and the circular round about we go..... over and over....   so again,  ask, what is your end goals here?

When the current interim head coach claims the organization at Michigan has been malfunctioning for 5 years, that is newsworthy.  That period spans 2 different head coaches, and is the opinion of a Michigan insider that lives in this culture.  That says a ton about the entire Michigan administration, including head coaches.  Additionally, Harbaugh hired Moore to his staff in 2018 and heavily endorsed him for the Michigan head coaching job when he left for the Chargers.

Michigan has a mess to clean up and according to Poggi, it didn't start with Moore....which most of us already knew.

General statement applied across multiple conversations of same ilk.....

Well, infinitesimal progress has been made on retroactively awarding ND a spot in the 2025 playoff and vacating Michigan’s 2023 national championship.

Same here. I was far more disappointed in the program’s decision to skip the bowl game.

Harbaugh is far worse. Facts don’t lie. Hell, the interim coach just buried him as he should

So what do you do with schools outside the P4?  Have their own playoffs?  Kind of like high school class football? I could get behind that.

If you are to have a "championship" you need to have the best teams playing in it.  It's just that simple.  Vanderbilt and BYU would have their way with Tulane and James Madison too.

Myself, I wouldn't mind seeing an all-in playoff.  Cut back to 11 games and let everyone play. It would take an extra couple of games but it would avoid the criticism that comes with a committee choosing teams.  And that would take care of conference champions making the playoffs, except those who the committee thought not worthy, like Duke.  If you're going by the rules, Duke's in.

Looks like judge denied the motion to dismiss the former Michigan OC charges for his 10 charges for aggravated identity theft....more than 3300 student athletes...mostly women.  What a mess...what a culture......

Who hired both Sherrone Moore and Matt Weiss at University of Michigan??  Of yeah...that "great coach" Jim Harbaugh....

Ya , it looks like The Little Rascal got put in the corner for awhile .

Very likely, he was going back and forth with a MOD a couple days ago and was warned on several occasions. Think he did it on purpose knowing what was coming with the Poggi comments…

He may well have been given a holiday vacation. I don’t know. But @temptation has never backed away from a fight about Michigan yet. He would just double down on Biff. So, there’s no way he got suspended on purpose to avoid this issue. He’s usually wrong, but always ready to do battle.

Whittingham has emerged as the favorite to become the head coach at Michigan. My question is that he is 66 years old so this is likely a stop gap hire

Brian Kelly would be a better choice in my opinion. It's tempting (no pun intended) for Michigan, but they're too bullheaded to take LSU's leftovers. I still think Kelly is a good coach. But you have to have a good support staff, and that's what Kelly was lacking at LSU.

Seems like a solid choice.  I would agree with your stop gap hire assessment.  I would guess, Coach W would come in, help clean up the “image”, possibly mentor a “coach in waiting” soon and go from there.

Thinking 2-4 years to groom a head coach in waiting. If Whittingham is the guy, I would say he would be hired in the next 4-5 days. If not, then if Alabama loses to Indiana, DeBoer could still be in the mix
