There is been talk on how to see the tournament and think this idea might work the best, but please poke holes in it that is the only way it could be made better.

First for do away with sectionals or do a way with regionals.  What ever you do combine those 8 teams into a super sectional or regional, or what ever you want to call it.  for seeding take the Sarger, coached polls, media poll, have 9 athletic directors of the 16 on there side of the bracket and have a group from the ishaa do ranking as well.  You take the throw out the top highest ranking and lowest then you average the last 4 and that is your ranking for seeding

Not bad, but I don’t think seeding has to get more complicated than using Sagarin, especially if you’re just going to seed the regionals.

Abused please it 21 to 0. Cg also the there 2 best RB get hurt in the practice leading up the game and one of them played both ways

CG did nothing in that game until their last offensive play, which was their only chance of scoring all night long.

Man, the mental gymnastics that a once proud fanbase has to do in order to attempt to flex in 2025 is insane.

Temp come on, how is it mental gymnastics to point out that the game played that year was not much of a contest. I am not trying to flex on Center Grove, it is pointless. They are a far better program than Penn at this moment. Penn has nothing to flex about. I hardly ever bring up the 5 state titles we have won, unless comparing Penn to Penn. I regularly bring up those butt whippings Penn has received in like their last four or 5 outings at state.

Penn has had 2 state title games where they were the clear better team, that night. Evansville North and CG. Other than that they were in tight games or getting blown out.

Just think rehashing things from 2+ decades ago is a bad look.

What ??? you do it constantly when it fits your narrative.

You’re so easy to trigger, lol.

I use it as evidence to predict the future…

I don't think it's a bad look. There's something to be proud of when you're a blue blood. Penn hasn't had a title recently, but it's hard to ignore that they've tasted success every year for the last 5 decades.

There's a lot of talk about how dominant Indy teams are, and it's true. But most are a bunch of Johnny-come-latelies  who are benefiting from massive enrollments in the fastest growing area in the state by far. It's a no contest. Tax dollars are being sucked away from other areas of the state so that Indy can "be like Chicago." And those aren't my words. Those are words directly from an Indy politician's mouth. Indy wants to be MASSIVE. And they are succeeding.

Some central Indy JV teams would “taste success” with that schedule…

Temp, when something suits your narrative, everything is fair game, but when someone else does it, it is living in the past. Same way with transitive scores. You use them to suit you, but ignore them when someone else uses them. Can’t have it both ways…

Those Indy JV teams would have beaten Ben Davis and Center Grove? I mean, those were two of Penn's victims on their way to 5 state titles.

That was a fun fact finding adventure I just went on. In the 90's, The North had 4 state titles by two different teams. The South had 3 titles by two different teams. Indy had 3 titles all by the same team.

He means in the last decade or so

Probably 10 jv teams in Indy that could wax Penn's whole schedule

Those are “facts” right? Not speculation…

It really was a level playing field back then, even with Indy having three programs double the enrollment of everyone else. It really says a lot about how strong the North and South were before the population explosion of the Indy burbs.

Couldn’t this describe Penn in the 80’s and 90’s?   Penn was the desirable “suburb” of South Bend….became way larger by enrollment than anyone else in the area.  Add to that an all time great coach.   Huge successes Penn should always celebrate.

Calling Indy suburbs Johnny come lately is myopic.

It was brought to my attention that Penn's past history has very little value. Personally, I have tons of respect for the Penn's and the Hobart's of high school football. College media types always cite the historical value of Notre Dame, Michigan, Alabama, Nebraska, Penn State, Texas, and USC. So why cant we do the same at the high school level? That's what my post was about, discrediting Penn's past. But yes, you're correct. Penn of the 80's was very similar to the the suburban teams Indy has now. No disrespect to them. But if the Penn contingent wants to tout 5 state titles, most of which occurred in the 90's, then let them. Blue Blood. Plain and simple.

Blue blood is not an eternal fraternity.

It’s ever changing.

No titles in 2+ decades…

Its expired.

Most of those colleges are still relevant in football

Yale has 18 titles.

Princeton 15.

Harvard 8.

Minnesota 6.

They blue bloods?

(And for the record, prior to Michigan’s title in 2023, I cringed when I heard the term blue blood to describe them.)

Kind of silly conversation

Penn was good 40 years ago and nobody can take that away from them.

but they are a complete non factor as of right now.

Could they come back sometime? maybe

but as is it would appear they would schedule a middle school if they got the chance, so I'd say its unlikely.

Go Penn beat CP

Really? Those teams?

You're alone Temp. Ninety nine percent of the college football world would have considered Michigan a blue blood in 2022.

Hobart is a blue blood. They have the titles, and when you play them, you still have to game film if you don't want to get beat. Notre Dame doesn't have to game film to beat Princeton, Yale, and Harvard. And you're really stretching going back 65 years with Minnesota.

Blue bloods are defined by trophy cases.

If your trophy cases are filled with dust, then the Temp reserves the right to revoke your blue blood membership card.
