HHPatriots Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 We have played Roncalli 1 time in semi-state in 2000 when we won state. They were the Rebels back then and they were 3A--they are a tad bigger now. I'll put up the graphic when I get it. Quote
Rodney Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 still the rebels I don't like change 2 Quote
Impartial_Observer Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 They would still be the Rebels had it not been for a benefactor that had an aversion to the moniker. Quote
hhpatriot04 Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 I don't think Heritage Hills has played their best game, yet. And that's a good thing because they will need to be at their best to even hang with Roncalli. We'll find out in the first possession whether or not the Patriots can hang. Quote
fenderbender Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 Comes down to HH stopping the Roncalli running game. All three phases of the option have become big threats. Quote

HHPatriots Posted November 17, 2025 Author Posted November 17, 2025 I know the numbers and the math and somebody told me this morning that Harrell has this as a 2 score game. While this may be where our roster size catches up with us, we certainly aren't going up there to lose. Everybody has counted us out...I'm really wondering how this matches up. We are the lone public school that is left in 4A. These young men will do their best to make the south proud. And hey, you only need 11 guys that want to play! 2 Quote
TommyTwoTimes Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 (edited) No matter what class it is... 3A, 4A, or whatever, once we get to semi-state the topic of conversation almost always turns to roster size, how many are playing both ways?, etc. If roster size was much of a deciding factor HH wouldn't have made it out of the 4A sectional. Definitely not out of Regional. I have a feeling this game is going to come down to a four factors, as they always do: Health, Turnovers, Who wins the line of scrimmage, and Who has the most SEC commits. 😄 Seriously though, I don't think the size of roster or who plays both ways is going to decide this one. It's gonna be battle of two teams who are hitting their strides at the right time, and at the end of it the firetrucks will be waiting at Denny's to give an escort through Dale, Mariah Hill, Santy Claus and back to the Jungle. HH-3 You may be right and maybe I am borrowing another overused metric here but other that at Gibson Southern, when has Heritage Hills been forced to play a four quarter game? That has to matter, right? Quote

HH-3 I would say that the Northview coach brought up roster size in his post game radio comments. Something like “ they have twice as many players as we do.” May not matter, but gives us something to talk about, right? Quote
HereComesTheBoom Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 (edited) A couple of interesting tidbits for this game ... former HH Patriot standout, Alex Bettag, is D-Coordinator for Roncalli. Also, former HH Patriot linebacker/center Andy Toth's son Alex, is a senior receiver for Roncalli. Edited November 17, 2025 by HereComesTheBoom Quote

Indeed and correct me if I am wrong but i believe the Toth's own a home on Christmas Lake....seems like my son hung out there with some guys last year. Quote

That's correct. Rumor has it the windows on that lake house will be decorated in "GO PATRIOTS!" I think they are still deciding on Red or Blue window paint. 🙂 Edited November 17, 2025 by HereComesTheBoom 2 Quote
