MD/North and Castle/Reitz look to be the only decent games.

I think MD and Castle get their second losses this week. Central could give Jasper some problems. Overall I don't expect any game to be closer than 14 points. SIAC really needs to go to two divisions.

I have spoken to anyone over at school, but if this is true, then I would guess that Bosse is making Memorial sit on the visitor side (it's our home game). They started doing this a few years ago. I believe its our feeder school night so the crowd will be fairly large despite it not being expected to be a competitive game. The visitor side at Enlow Field doesn't accommodate a big crowd very well (seating, concessions, rest rooms, etc.). It's their house so it's their right. 

Or it could be a simple maintenance issue, although the old gal just got a facelift over the summer so I'm not sure what work she might need. 

No biggie either way. 

@MDAlum82, does Reitz do this to MD when they're the visiting team?

Bosse told Memorial to sit on the visitor side.  This is what I have heard from school employees.    To be fair they aren’t admin employees.

Affirmative. As I said, Bosse admin started this a few years ago and its their right to do so. It makes me no difference whatsoever as it won't impact our crowd size, but what I really don't understand is Bosse doing this knowing they will lose a large concessions revenue for whatever team/band/club staffs the concession stand. It would seem to me that with almost no gate/concessions revenue at their own home games (their crowd is typically less than 100), they would want what will be a large stream of income that would help their own kids. In addition, when Enlow's track was being replaced several years ago, Memorial allowed Bosse to have their track practices at our school for a while. It seems somewhat short-sighted. In the end, I guess its a win for them in their minds, it won't matter in the result and Harrison gets the financial benefit.

So ...I'm still confused. It is a Bosse home game...they tell Memorial to sit on the visitors side (as is their right...it is their stadium) ...Memorial says "no we don't want to" so the solution is to move the game to Harrison?? Am I following this correctly???

It does not sound like you follow correctly.
It is not a Bosse home game, it's officially a Memorial home game.  
Bosse has been telling Memorial to take the visitor side at least back in 2024, 2022 and apparently also this year.
Memorial apparently doesn't want to sit on the visitor side of Enlow, so they are moving their home game to Harrison Romain Stadium.

Memorial home game.  Memorial pays to rent a field with the best set-up for their fans. It's a non-story for a slow news week.

@MDAlum82, does Reitz do this to MD when they're the visiting team?

When MD is the home team, the team voluntarily uses the Visitor sideline and bleachers.  The main, home side bleachers are split down the middle.  This occasionally creates some friction as Reitz has season tickets holders who are asked to give up their "regular seats" since this is a MD "home game".  Some RHS fans are not fond of this request.

fwiw, I think the "rental payments" ended a few years ago under past EVSC admin since fans of all local schools pay taxes that support the fields.  They could have been re-instituted again, however.   Tango always seems to have his ear to ground on these type issues...

We always take the visitor locker room at Enlow as well (even if not playing Bosse). I'm pretty sure neither Memorial nor Mater Dei pays "rent" to the EVSC for using Enlow or Reitz Bowl for their home games anymore. They do pay for the cost for the EVSC facility employees to set up, clean up, etc. and the non-EVSC costs for security, etc. I'm going to say it has been close to 10-15 years (?) and was changed back when the EVSC was pushing for a tax referendum and needed broad community support to get it through. Their leaders asked our leaders to give support and our folks agreed if they would stop nickel and diming us. As oldtimeqb says, it really isn't a big issue.

Our folks just like tailgating at Enlow better than at Harrison.

I prefer Enlow because it's a much safer bike ride for me than to Harrison from where I live. First world problem...

Theoretically - if every SIAC school drew a home playoff opener (North plays at North, Central at Central, Bosse at Enlow, Reitz at the Bowl, Harrison at Harrison)....and MD and Memorial also have home games....do they play Saturday?? I know we've played MD on Saturday's in the tourney before....

Could it possibly be moved to the opponents field if they insist to play on Friday??? Has that ever happened before??

Memorial plays at Castle, Mater Dei plays at North Posey or Mount Vernon. 😛

I'm not Coach Hurley (obviously), but my guess would be at Castle (if available) and if not, then play Saturday. I would also guess MD would probably play Saturday over playing in PoCo. I don't ever recall MD playing there before, but I'm not the MD guy. That would be my cousin MDAlum82..

I don't know how much power the visiting team has to mandate a Friday vs. Saturday...?

North Posey has played Mater Dei at Gibson Southern and Central both home playoff games for MD. Obviously also at Reitz

5A has a bye first week of playoffs, so Castle and North will always be open.  However, if HH runs to a 4A state championship and plays in 5A sectional 16 next year that could change.
