Football Fanatic
Thanks for doing the team stats! Will you be bringing back the individual stats as well? Reitz and Memorial both have lights-out defenses. Looking forward to that week 7 matchup! Also looking forward to see if the Triple-B offense (Bosse Bulldog Bombardment) can put up much points on either of them.

Individual stats, probably not as they are usually posted on Maxpreps and you can look up the top individuals. FridayNightLights
I'm not a huge follower of the SIAC but what has happened to Evansville Central in recent years? They were competing for conference titles it seemed like year in and year out and even a state title no so long ago. I don't understand such a dramatic drop off in such a short period of time. They were competing for conference titles it seemed like year in and year out and even a state title no so long ago. I don't understand such a dramatic drop off in such a short period of time. One of the major reasons is that it seems like there has many HC coaching changes the last several years, transfers leaving (not many this year), Youth Program in a rebuild, newer players not buying in and some other inconsistencies (some stuff I have heard over the years). After Any Own retired after the 2017 season, they had a lot of success when Burgess lead them to a 4A State game in 2018. Definitely one of the better teams in 4A, since their OL/DL was college sized and their playmakers were very good. 2019 and 2020 seasons were really good when Coultis was there. And it appeared that Central had their long-term guy, but resigned a few weeks prior to summer practices for personal reasons. After that, it has been an immediate downhill for the Bears and looking like a long-term rebuild. It’s pretty strange how quick they dropped down, since they were consistent in the 2010’s. Central may eventually get back to their dominant role, but who knows when that will happen. I’m sure someone will provide a long term explanation, but that is the whole gist of it. TigerFan20
TF20's Power Rankings 1. Reitz (3-0)- Coach Brunson has a scary defensive team, still #1 until dethrones them. Big test in the trenches this week against North 2. Memorial (3-0)- Memorial's D has been stout the first 3 weeks of the season and the offense is improving 3. Castle (2-1)- High-powered offense for the Knights, as they have a good amount of skilled players, but still a lot of time left to figure out the defense 4. North (2-1)- Big matchup this week with Reitz, which should determine their position in the SIAC with a win 4. VL (2-1)- Still think VL will have a good season, especially with Hunt behind center 6. Jasper (1-2)- Seems like the defense is still beginning the figure out a few things, offense took a slight setback 7. Bosse (1-2)- Beat Jasper this week, and I think the Bulldogs will see a rise in the rankings with the #1 offense in the SIAC 8. Mater Dei (1-2)- Very young team for MD, but shot themselves in the foot last week. Big statement coming up this Friday against Memorial 9. Central (0-3)- Going to be a long season again for the Bears.. 10. Harrison (0-3)- Finally scored some points, but in the same boat as Central Castle/North/VL is still pretty tough on where to place them
TigerFan20
Week 4 Finals 56-34 Jasper over Bosse 56-6 VL over Central 49-7 Castle over Harrison 9-6 Memorial over MD in a classic Catholic Bowl game 24-7 Reitz over North
tango
I predict with 2 or 3 wins in regular season MD wins Sectional 40.
TigerFan20
What we have learned: Mater Dei at Memorial (9-6 Memorial) Always a classic matchup between these two as it will either be a 20’s scoring game or a very defensive game. Which is what we got on Friday night, as the Tigers took the win in a defensive showdown. Both defenses looked very strong , while the offenses struggled during the game. Memorial remains at Enlow against Harrison, while MD heads over back to the Bowl to face Jasper. Central at VL (56-6 VL) Nothing much to say about this one, as VL rolled straight through Central in a blood bath. Looks like the VL defense forced 5 turnovers against Central. VL gets Castle at home in a big show down, Central will get Reitz at home. Harrison at Castle (49-7 Castle) Sounded like Harrison made this game early on in the 1st half scoring first and was deadlocked in 1st quarter and some of 2nd quarter. However, Castle took a 21-7 lead at half and then took over for the rest of the game to score 28 points in the 2H. Big matchup at Inman Field, as Castle heads up US41 against VL. Harrison travels to Enlow for Memorial. Bosse at Jasper (56-34 Jasper) Jasper jumped out to a 28-6 lead at HT, after Bosse scored early on. It appeared Jasper had Bosse under control offensively. While I didn’t fully tune into the game, looked to me Bosse and Jasper went back and forth in scoring in the 2H. But Jasper scored and defended well enough to keep a safe distance at the end. Bosse will travel to North, while Jasper heads to the Bowl to face MD. North at Reitz (24-7 Reitz) Deja vu, I think I’ve seen this score before, as Reitz wins another 24-7 game (3 straight weeks of the same score). Another great defensive showing from the Panthers, as they held North to just 7 points. It looked like both teams did have a mistakes/penalties throughout the game. And it seemed like after the 1H, both teams couldn’t do much in scoring. North will get Bosse at home, while Reitz heads over to Central. Football Fanatic
Well it looks like Vera had quite the game Friday, saw he put himself in the record books. That kid is impressive. Has to be vaulting himself into contention for SIAC POTY and All-State. There are a handful of elite performers in the conference this season. I'm talking dudes who are a guaranteed highlight every week. Love it.
Football Fanatic
I'd say the top 5 candidates for SIAC POTY right now would be: Roland Vera Jr. Elijah Wagner Antonio Harris Luke Ellspermann Matthew Fisher

I was going to say something about that. Broshears is awesome, and a few other defensive players (like Oxley) could be considered because of the impact they have, but it will most likely always be an offensive-focus player. For Memorial, Fisher and Ellspermann have the sexy stats that pop out at you, but Broshears has been an absolute game-changer for them.
