PHJIrish Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Looks like another noon 'til midnight day of football for this old fan! Quote
PHJIrish Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Georgia Tech 28, Miami 23 final! Good news for Notre Dame and IU! Quote
PHJIrish Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 The Irish have finally taken control, leading 28-3 with about 9 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Riley Leonard is still having problems throwing downfield. Florida State is bad! Quote
PHJIrish Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 The Irish moved up to #8 in the coaches poll, and #8 in the AP. Quote

PHJIrish Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Great start and then not much from the Irish offense. 7-0 Irish after one. Quote
Bobref Posted November 16, 2024 Author Posted November 16, 2024 And they said a kid from a 1A school couldn’t make it in the big time. No one has played more games at Notre Dame. 2 Quote

Irishman Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 That was likely the craziest 1st half of a game I have ever seen. I am guessing when Freeman showed the trick punt play in pregame, he did not have the players' numbers on it. Or that any official said ok Coach, but know that these 5 have to have linemen numbers. lol Quote
Bobref Posted November 18, 2024 Author Posted November 18, 2024 Happy 55th birthday to the most exciting college football player I ever saw. This highlight is my favorite. I remember Bo Schembechler was asked before the game if they were going to do anything special to prevent Rocket from breaking one. He said “tackle him.” … So, he broke two. The incomparable Raghib “Rocket” Ismail. 4 Quote

He has said he wants to give the NFL a shot, and more power to him. But I have a feeling this young man is going to accomplish much, much bigger things in life than playing a few more years of football. Mark my words, he is really going places. 3 Quote

PHJIrish Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 Bottom line is, if the Irish can't win against Army and USC, they have no business being in the playoffs. Not that either will be easy, but those games are very winnable. Quote
