Notre Dame 28, Army 7 at the half!  The Irish just need to have another good half.

BTW, maybe Jeremiah Love should be in the Heisman conversation.  He's had a phenomenal season!

Irish win over Army, 49-14.  On to LA and USC next week.  It's actually a play in game.

Only our blood enemy standing between us and the playoff. Just the way it should be.

Doesn't get enough touches, but, if he did, he'd absolutely need to be in the conversation. I agree he's had a phenomenal season.

So, for you at least, it's all about stats and not about production?

Not for me, as someone who doesn't have a vote, but I suspect that will be a substantial part of it for those who are voters. I'm simply saying, I reckon he'd undeniably be a contender for the award if he had enough touches to inflate his stats. The Heisman is as much about showcasing and overwhelming the media environment as anything else––whether that's with stats like Jeanty, or a unique or interesting story combined with excellence like Te'o or Travis Hunter. Love is a phenomenal player and has had a great year with basically the same yards per play as Jeanty.

The Irish moved up a spot to #5 in the CFB rankings.  The USC game is vital for the Irish to stay up there.  Stranger things have happened, but the Irish should be able to take care of business Saturday afternoon.

Every game after week two has been a play in game

Don't see how Penn st is ahead of them.  yuck , my eye test says ND waxes Penn st

It was the Northern Illinois loss. Had they beat Northern Illinois by 3pts, but lost to Texas A&M on the road by 3, then the committee would have them over Penn State. What would the rankings look like if the committee threw out each teams best and worst game? Would that be a good approach?

I just don't know how any reasonably intelligent person can look at the Northern Illinois loss with any relevance at this point. Not after the way Notre Dame obliterated 10 better teams on their schedule.

It’s Beat USC Day. My favorite memory of this game was my senior year at ND in 1973, Eric Penick’s 85 yd. run early in the 2nd half broke open a close game and led the undefeated Irish to their date with destiny in the Sugar Bowl against Alabama 2 months later. Lindsey Nelson on the call.

One of my earliest memories of Irish football…..always loved getting home from school on Mondays and watching Lindsey’s edited version of each game on WHMB, the Lesea channel in Indy.

“And now, with the score the same, we move to further action in the 3rd quarter.” I can hear his voice plain as day.

It was the first thing I thought of when I saw his name in your post.

The Irish had two of the longest pick sixes I've ever seen in one game.  The first on was for 99 yards and the second was for 100+ yards.  The Irish won, BTW, 49-35.  USC scored a late TD for the final count.

Irish DB's really struggled playing man to man. Offense was inconsistent. Far from a clean game, but they have 3 weeks to fix things, and get healthy.

The defense played a lot at the end of the game.  The two pick sixes put 'em back on the field in quick fashion.  They also had a lot of injured players and some that played with injuries, so yes, the time off will really help that situation.  Also, USC seemed to have an awfully good game plan against the Irish.  They didn't run the same play twice very often.

Anyway, the Irish won and are in!

5 seed is the sweet spot in this new format, particularly this year.

Likely the non P4 at large in South Bend followed by a road game at the ACC/Big 12 champ.

Semi-finals becoming a real possibility for the Irish.

Jack already has two degrees: graduating with his baccalaureate degree in three years in  May 2022, majoring in business analytics and earning a master's of accountancy in 2023. He is currently pursuing further graduate education.

Jack earned the Tom Frecka Academic Achievement Award for posting the top GPA (3.97) in the entire Notre Dame Master of Accountancy program. A member of the 2024 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, Kiser claimed the Dean's Graduate Business Award.

Jack has also lead the fighting Irish football as a defensive Captain this year and is a finalist for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy honoring collegiate football players who also excel off the field in leadership and community service.

Congratulations Jack and the Kiser family!

Congratulations to young Mr. Kiser, but why does a student athlete with a full ride Notre Dame athletic scholarship also need the funds afforded by the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship?  Sounds like the Lilly Scholarship could have gone to a Cass county youth who needed it more.

Yeah, I forget I should keep silent about individuals and institutions who are generally perceived as being perfect.
