  1. Some years it rains more than others. Farmers are at the mercy of the weather. I don't make the rules, I just follow them. Of course if our backwards thinking governor would get off his hands, Hemp could have already been in the ground and thriving with all the wet May weather.

  3. in 2014 our best Corner was our QB, but we were loaded and did not have to play him at CB, but we did for 4 games. West Lafayette, LCC X 2 and State game vs Mater Dei If anyone remembers state game, early in 1st, Mater Dei got loose, this corner took like a 90 yard angle from backside, knocked the runner out of bounds at the 3. 2 plays later we cause a fumble and held them out of EZ, all because of his effort on the play.

  5. Nick Zachery was starting quarterback and played safety for Sheridan from 2005 to 2008; state champion the first three years, runner-up to Ritter in 2008. I pulled the following information from the 2010 IU Football roster: Four-year (high school) varsity starter played quarterback, safety, returned punts and kicks and served as the team's place-kicker and punter in his career ... 2008 Indiana Mr. Football runner-up and Mr. Football at defensive back.

  6. No conspiracy. Obvious examples of collusion and obstruction litter the report.

  7. In the pros QB's put butts in the seats. They will have multiple back ups but they are not on the same level. In college, QB's putt butts in the seats. They will have multiple back ups that may or may not be on the same level. In high school, QB's are often the only option a team has for QB. Yes there are exceptions, but I'd much rather my QB got hurt scrambling than making a tackle.

  8. Yawn..... Precipitation Most consecutive days with measurable (>= 0.01") precipitation 13 - April 9-21, 1893 12 - May 10-21, 2010 11 - 9 times (1875, 1876, 1883, 1896, 1908, 1929, 1933, 1945, 1992) last time was July 7-17, 1992 Most consecutive days with any (>= trace) precipitation 22 - November 27-December 18, 1983 - April 6-27, 1893 19 - January 6-24, 1995 18 - December 29, 1998-January 1999 15,- January 11-28, 1918 The beautiful thing about the term climate "change" is no matter what happens, "change" has it covered. What is the ideal amount of CO²? What is the ideal sea level? What is the ideal global temperature? What is the ideal glacial coverage? What is the ideal sea temperature?

  9. Linton historically... always had had the QB on D... Last year our Soph QB didn't play D...but I suspect he will this year. Most every Miner QB has also been the Free Safety. Tyler Meurer, Keith Cunningham, Keaton Cox some to mind. Austin Karazsia, our 6'7 QB from '09-'12 i don't think ever was on the field on D. Course being a small school.. we want out best 11 out there at all times...so it's rare that ours sit on D.. unless we are lucky to have quality players at that particular position.

  10. 1994 Castle State Championship team: Vince Lidy was starting QB and starting ILB. Ended up playing at IU on scholarship I believe as LB. Did a lot of tossing to Tony Salpietra (Sp) then leading the play as a blocker. Castle ran that wild unbalanced line with no wideouts. Just too many gaps to defend and only 1 RB! Man that team could pound the ball.

  11. Linton had a kid maybe 7 years ago. Played QB and Inside Linebacker. Very physical kid. He was a LB playing QB. Rupska I think his name was.

  12. I was supervising a travel softball tournament last year when the PU requested that all fans be removed from the backstop and moved to the opposite end of the dugouts. I went and told them they had to move, only had an issue with one fan, who "paid his money" and would sit wherever he wanted. After a brief discussion he saw things my way and moved. No problems for the "if" game. It's sad, why can't adults just act like adults and let kids play a game?

  13. FWIW - back in I believe 2003 and 2004 seasons, Chris Kramer of Purdue basketball fame never left the field for at the time 5A Huntington North. He was an absolute stud athlete. Starting QB, played defense (I can't remember if he was a safety or linebacker), excellent punter and returned all kicks as well. Even as a 5A school (the largest class at the time), if you have an athlete like that, I say play him as much as he is able and willing.

  16. I heard through the grapevine that IHSAA Asst Commissioner Robert Faulkens (who is in charge of Baseball) attended the LaPorte Regional this past Saturday. During a discussion about the Pitch Count rule & the role of the Official Scorer during tournament games, a sportswriter offered an idea to announce when a pitcher reaches 100 pitches so that everybody knows & to avoid violations. Faulkens flatly told him they're not going to do that. Why? I have no idea. I guess the IHSAA must enjoy having a rule in place that is relatively easy to break (by accident or on purpose) which causes controversy.

  17. Jeffersonville has hired Isaac Parker to be their new HC. He has been an assistant for the last few coaches there and is a city police officer. Congrats and best of luck. https://www.newsandtribune.com/sports/football-parker-named-new-jeffersonville-coach/article_3fedfe74-8742-11e9-a3bb-f309162d6fad.html

  18. Because there is not existing draconian government abortion regulation in a neighboring state like Illinois, so those women planning on having an abortion still have a choice.

  19. I get your point, subsidies are subsidies period. In my original comment, my thoughts are how can anything be a right, when someone else's rights are infringed upon? If abortion is a right, someone has to perform it. Expanding on the gun issue, US citizens have the right to keep and bear arms, but if I can't afford one, the government doesn't subsidize me purchasing a firearm. As far as subsidies to businesses, I have mixed emotions. I don't necessarily oppose all subsidies on the face of it. But a for instance our local government recently granted an abatement for a warehouse that added no new employees. That in my opinion is a government handout. I never said I necessarily opposed subsidizing abortions. I think I have pretty consistent in my opinion that government's place is to aid it's citizenry with things they can't do for themselves. In Bob's example of a broke 17 year old girl taking a bus three states away for an abortion. There are a myriad of thoughts that come to mind with this situation. It no doubt fits my opinion of government's role in our lives, but first and foremost, how is a 17 year old kid in this situation where she has no where to turn other than an abortion clinic.?

  22. What do I think? Nothing. Caveat Emptor. Nobody is forcing an individual to take out that loan at the particular interest rate. After all usury is just the lending of money with an interest charge for its use. Years ago I had to use the services of a payday lender for several months. I made sure to pay back the entire balance by the due date, so I was only out the $20-25 (can't remember exactly how much). I knew the consequences of "rolling over" the existing loan into a new one.

  25. Bernie and Ocasio-Cortez Declare War on the Poor With Anti-Credit-Card Law: https://mises.org/power-market/bernie-and-ocasio-cortez-declare-war-poor-anti-credit-card-law As is so typical of politicians, the answer offered by this new legislation is to limit the options available to the most at-risk populations. A better approach is to allow freedom for both borrowers and lenders, to treat borrowers like adults, and to not assume they are incapable of managing their own money. Treating individuals like adults is not the purview of progressives like Mr. Sanders and Ms. Ocasio-Cortez. To them most Americans are children who need the adults in government to tell them what they can and cannot do. This law in a slap in the face of individuals freedoms and responsibility.
