I think the higher-risk choice would have been to stay in the NIC. Good on Mishawaka for making a choice they feel most benefits their school and athletics programs. Too much potential for instability in the NIC.

A LOT of interesting names out there...and fun conversation...as @Coach Nowlin said, stay away from the hearsay. I agree with Temptation as far as the coaches in the donut around Marion County. I don’t see any of them moving. I am going to throw one name out there that has yet to come up, but has been a GREAT coach. Terry Peebles has plenty of experience on the college level and has done a great job with the Harrison program.

I get it, I totally do. I would have more sympathy had they missed three games due to other teams' doing, but one of them was due to their inability to stay healthy. Notice, they were also the only team that had an "outbreak" that only missed one game. They KNEW they needed to play at MSU last week and did so despite missing TWENTY-THREE guys. It was settled on the field and they beat Indiana, but this spits in the face of even having rules to begin with. The conference messed up by starting late and then doubled down by having ZERO bye weeks in anticipation this could happen.

Congrats to Ben "the accounting Professor" Johnson from 4A Reitz Memorial. His finest work IMO was defensive game plans that held two very good teams, Mt. Vernon Fortville and East Noble, to 3 points each in the semi-state and state title games during the 2019 tournament. He has been instrumental in the Tigers 2 state title wins. Plus, he can do your income taxes...

That's true that raises are negotiated but when I left Indiana teacher raises could only be negotiated from "New Money" and with the bulk of funding being linked to enrollment, effectively you had to be in a growing district to have a chance at a raise. Has that changed? What is the Teacher Appreciation Grant? Is this less than a few years old?

LOL. Their football stadium is easily visible from the Toll Road just before entering Chicago. It looks like it seats 50 people and was the practice field used in the movie Wildcats.

Huh? P/P's have more of a community feel than most public schools while also bringing huge crowds to sporting events.

Is it possible that the endzone camera situation is markedly better at Franklin Central compared to what Coach West had available to work with at Warren Central? Maybe Franklin Central has a Hi-Pod X31.......
