  1. The nattering nabobs of negativity always remind me of these muppets:

  2. Indy resident. I live on the Southwest side. That area needs development. $1 billion seems really excessive, but I hope it works out. That area of town just west of Lucas Oil Stadium needs it.

  3. Tough one tonight for more reasons than 1 . The emotions will be high in that building tonight tough ask for any team to go in the Breslin center and win under normal circumstances. 2-2 in the last 4 will be fine with hopefully 1-2 wins in Chicago you never know ? should keep a favorable 4 or 5 seed in March . Just glad I can go into selection not sweating / excited for the first time since 2016. Enjoying this stretch run for sure !

  4. My goodness I agree with @Muda69 on something. Good thing Lent starts tomorrow so I can atone for it. Somewhat rhetorical question. Can the development of the former Diamond Chain property go forward without a publicly-financed stadium included?

  5. Changes to new editions of Roald Dahl books have readers up in arms: https://www.npr.org/2023/02/21/1158347261/roald-dahl-books-changed-offensive-words A dangerous new weapon is right. This is disgusting censorship.

  6. I heard the head of Keystone Group on the radio this morning discussing the new soccer stadium. And it sounds good….but two glaring issues: 1) If you build it, they don’t come and the taxpayers are saddled with an incomplete mess. 2) Still doesn’t address you know the crime, homelessness, shootings, murders, and what not.

  7. 21 INTs and 28 Fumbles in less than 2 full seasons would be my starting point.

  8. Any way to schedule next year so it’s not the same day as wrestling state finals?

  9. I know, he isn't in the dead pool yet, but he is getting things ready to jump in soon. Jimmy Carter, 98 years old - He certainly wasn't a good POTUS, (IMHO - kind of a toss-up between he and our current POTUS as to who was/is worse) but his life before and afterwards has certainly been incredible. A former military man, returned home to run the family business. A staunch, humble humanitarian person who gave so much of his time and efforts to so many, especially his work with Habitat for Humanity even up to a few years ago. I will give credit where credit is due. A man who has earned my deep respect - may he pass peacefully and rest in peace. https://apnews.com/article/politics-united-states-government-gerald-ford-ronald-reagan-hospice-care-f4e26c10a7b366f14e62f690da403b0a

  10. I've been hearing that soccer was about to explode in popularity since the 70s. This seems pretty ambitious but I'm glad they're doing it.

  11. I see it more as musical chairs. Carmel and CG were tight knit pals leaving the MIC together for a brighter tomorrow in the HCC. HCC said "no", I believe more because of Carmel. MIC is scorned and kicks both out. Carmel doesn't see HCC on the horizon and realizes MIC may be only conference in town to take them. So, distance yourself from your main competitor, ensuring you get one of those spots. Distancing yourself pleases the majority of the MIC, so that's what they do. With hat in hand, they are allowed back in the MIC. Without CG in the MIC, they mop up. Lot more trophies in the case back at the mansion. It has to be much more than a single bball game in which their own coach screwed up royally with his behavior.
