The real question I need answered is, in a potential 6A Carmel/CG state title game at Lucas Oil, will the Greyhounds simply concede/forfeit with little to no explanation?

The side the pressbox is on used to be the home bleachers (1972-2013). In 2014, they moved the home crowd to the visitor’s side of the field. Those bleachers used to be smaller than the old home bleachers. Not sure why exactly they switched sides but I’m guessing 42 seasons of complaints about the home fans having to stare into the sun during early season games might have had something to do with it.

Wasn't really pushed "to the brink" CG 14-0 end of Q1, CG 21-14 at half, CG 28-17 end of Q3, final CG 42-32. I guess one could call it interesting....that's fair. Love the hype. I hope they do well. It gives the north another program to take seriously. I love the direction Jeff and Carroll are going in. Now add Crown Point.

Definitely an empty ending for their season last year, but also I don't think anyone up here had expected them to run roughshod through their opponents for the first ten games though. They just ran into a team with a good game plan and a D1 RB who they simply could not stop that night. They return almost all of the defense and the O-Line, and bring in a legit D1 receiver and a QB who maybe has the potential to play D1 if he can put everything together. I think this should help as they were very one-dimensional offensively last year, which really haunted them against Jeff. They have a very good coaching staff top to bottom, located in a growing, wealthy town with only one high school, have great facilities they are investing even more money in, and have a strong youth program in place with CP Junior Bulldogs. As long as Buz's health holds up, I can see them turning into a perennial power up north. Whether that means they can compete with the teams from down south is another story.

@BasementbiasThank you, it is a good blessing to have more kids than helmets right now. Our hope is to be able to actually compete in the ACAC again.

Hope you are right…feels like a pretty empty 10-1 with the way it ended though.

One thing Valpo really has going for them is they are built to win in November. As mentioned above, they killed Snider and Whiteland by continuing to run off tackle over, and over, and over again with a power running game. It'll be the same story this year with a presumably healthy 6'0 220 Travis Davis at RB and a huge OL anchored by 6'6 270 Toledo committ Matt Hofer at Tackle.
