  1. Keep in mind, Warsaw handled Carroll easily in Sectionals last year after Carroll beat Warren. Also, Warsaw is 2-2 vs. Carroll in the last few years. It seems to be pretty clear to me that you are on the Warren bandwagon this year, which is fine. It is hard to understand why you think Warren is going to come to Fort Wayne and beat a Snider team that easily throttled Warren on their home turf last year. The way you are hyping up all these transfers for Warren makes me believe that Warren is the South’s version of Merrillville and their 45 D1 players…

  3. Center Grove? I'll roll with them by default. Last year was a "down" year and were an overtime from taking four in a roll. I'd have a hard time not ranking them #1.

  5. And then I believe after this home and home with Warren the next two years, the Tigers have a home and homes with Ben Davis and Fort Wayne Snider in the 2026 and 2027 seasons 😲

  11. The difference being Warren Central has 7 State Championships since 2003 the most recent being 2018, Merrillville hasn't had one since 1976. I personally find it tough to assume WC will be a juggernaut this year coming off of a 5-7 season. With transfers I guess you never know and we will find out.

  14. It's not a 'be all end all' comparison. But it is a decent comparison nonetheless. My point is that teams like Warsaw and Mishawaka are dangerous and you need to be highly prepared to defend them. I also think you underestimate games that are played in the first few weeks of the season. Nowadays, there are so many scrimmages and 7 on 7's during the summer, Week 1 is almost like the start of a second season.

  16. I'll remember that counselor! If I happen to get on the radio...it will just be Friday nights. There is a new journalism student who is taking over the Coach's show this year from what I hear. There is only a slight chance this will happen.....if it doesn't happen we need to change vendors in my humble opinion....but I am biased LOL. I plan to bash Catholic sports like a French opening ceremony! I kid...I kid.

  18. I will be interested to see how Warsaw does these next two years (and possibly beyond) in class 5A. The Tigers have always been in the largest class since the start of class football moving to 5 classifications in 1985 (and then 6A in 2013) and were always included in a sectional grouping that had either Indiana High School perinnial powers Penn or Fort Wayne Snider (sometimes BOTH!). The only exception was a 4 year run from 2013-2016 when they were grouped with Carroll, Homestead and Northrop. Now Warsaw moves into a Sectional grouping featuring an NLC conference duo of Concord and Goshen joined by, usually, a middle of the road SAC squad Fort Wayne North Side. Then, if they can win that sectional, a regional matchup against Kokomo, Lafayette Jeff, McCutcheon, or South Bend Adams would await. No disrespect to any of those programs, but none mentioned are not up to the level of competitiveness as a Penn or Snider (or Carroll or Homestead for that matter), let alone potential regional opponents like Carmel, Fishers, Hamilton Southeastern, Crown Point, Merrillville or Valparaiso over the last decade. I'm not saying the Tigers have a cakewalk to a Semi-State appearance whatsoever, but these next 2 years are as good an opportunity as they have ever had in the history of their program. Here's to hoping they can do it!
