Man, if that’s true, that’s terrible. You just hate that for these kids. You only get one, 4-year shot at HS sports and they put in so much work for it. Hopefully the injuries aren’t this bad and they can get back out there.

As great an athlete as Clint was, he was truly an even better person. You’d think somebody that talented at so many things would be arrogant. But, as confident as he was, he wasn’t arrogant in the least. He was the opposite of arrogant. Positive, encouraging, engaging. I bet there isn’t anybody who knew him who would say a bad thing about him.

Is Carroll/Snider not a “heated rivalry?” Brownsburg/Avon? Crown Point/Merrillville? New Pal/Mt. Vernon? Check the final score on those contests. Stop making excuses for poor play. Both teams continued to step on a rake for 4 hours. No other way to spin it.

It's only accurate if your team is ranked 3rd.

Went and watch the PLAC youth league today. Every team has some decent athletes coming. Some have a few monster sized kids (looking at you Perry), but came away most impressed with Crawford county. My 6th year watching this youth league and gotta say that was probably the best CC team I can remember. They didn't win (don't know if they have won all season). But they weren't scared. Mitchell actually had to make some drives. Usually it's just 1 play drives for the opponents and game gets ugly quickly. They had couple kids who could get outside, pretty good fundamentals all around really, and some good looking new uniforms. Also they had people in crowd really into it and engaged (1 really loud guy in a good way) that cheered no matter what. On top of it all had about 20 kids in the 5/6. Just a few years ago they had to play 10 on 10 after 1 kid got hurt. Will it lead to wins in the future? Who knows. But right now it appears that maybe they have the team going in right direction. Props to them and who ever is coaching those kids because i was surprised by them today

Wow! What a game! The defense play their best game of the year. I didn't think LCC would win the game. I thought WL would score 3 or 4 td's. WL scored 22 on Harrison and 34 on McCutcheon. The last time LCC held WL to 7 points was in 1994, when LCC beat WL 38-7, but that game was at LCC and WL went 0-9 that year. This reminds me of 1989 when LCC went over to WL and beat them 14-6. WL had beaten LCC the last 12 years and nobody thought LCC would beat WL that night. LCC made 2 FG's in that game in 1989, just like last night. LCC went on to win the sectional 17-7 in 1989, when they broke the law against Sheridan, and shut down Brett Law, Indiana's leading rusher. Last night was a really big win for LCC, they couldn't even hold WL to 7 points during the Anthrop years. But they didn't play WL until Danny's senior year.

Just to clarify, the teams in the original system weren't voted in, it was strictly on points. I've thought about doing a prequel to my "What A Cluster" book with it based on the points system...maybe call it "What's the Point?" 🙂 Dan "Rudy" Engler

Coach Cig so far has delivered what he has been saying. His mouth is somewhat unfiltered (not with curse words but just remarks about opponents and things). He's going to be the most hated coach in the B1G 18. And I love it. IU football is becoming relevant for basically the 1st time in their history.

We are heading into week 5, I think Cathedrals QB has done a really good job. Has had excellent composure in the pocket. Distributes the ball very well. He has made a couple throws he would like to take back, but that is all part of the learning process. He does not force a lot and can be very accurate. I think he has done terrific even in some tough games and he is still has a high ceiling. Agreed on the Irish RB. With Bonds getting injured it has really accelerated his learning experience. With Bonds healthy he still gets carries, but with him out he is getting significant work load and will only go up from here.
