The Star had an article about what you would do as IHSAA commissioner. I would only deal with football, but here would be my actions. - Allow for the creation of "Coop" schools. These would consist of schools too small to have a football team now yet merging with another local small school would permit them to field a team each season. I have always thought that a Loogootee/Barr Reeve football team would be a tough Class A assignment. I may be wrong, but Indiana may be the only state that is not doing this. - Semi-States would be double-headers on Saturday at neutral sites, using large high school or small college fields. - Seeding the tournament after sectionals. This idea is really gaining support throughout the country. - Similar to what Arizona has been doing for several years and Florida is starting to do next year, at the end of each season the eight best teams would play in an "Open" division. We could reduce class size back to five (eliminating Class 6A). After that day, I would retire and enjoy my football season.

The next level forum and the other clubs were actually ideas TA had. The initial OOB was a name he came up with and assigned one moderator to that forum to discuss other topics and have less strict boundaries. That said, let the people from this conference/area have their topic back. There were very specific reasons DT was brought up here, and from the point you inserted yourself into the conversation, it has sidetracked from that and the original conference discussions.

Seriously, @temptation, they make the first down on that play they still have to move the ball 40+ yards to score against a defense that had given them nothing the entire game. I get it, blackjack says never punt the ball, EVER. But I think that changes after watching the dynamics of a game through three quarters. Pin em deep, force a turnover, get a short touchdown. The margin of some of those losses were huge…losing is one thing…getting blasted in many of those games is something else. No doubt a tough schedule. Lot of players getting signed by quality programs, including CFP playoff teams.

Regardless of what he said in the press conference, my take was that he thought he could pin the Irish deep and force a turnover rather than give the ball back at midfield. I thought it was a good decision.

California has an "Open Division", but it is a two-team, one game structure. Each of the state divisions have different classes and at the end of divisional play, a board assigns a team to a "Bowl Game" which is designated by Class and Division. Since the creation of the "Open Division" in 2015, the game has usually been the winner of the Southern Section representing the south part of the state and Concord De La Sale representing the northern section of the state. I really do not like their setup as the Southern Section has too many great teams in it and they are eliminated by each other early. That section includes Mater Dei, St. John Bosco, Corona Centennial, Mission Viejo, Anaheim Servite and Orange Lutheran. They then have fourteen games with teams no one has heard of.

A great season for IU without a doubt, made all the better because it was unexpected. My hope is an 11-2 season was so enjoyable for Hoosier fans that they realized winning is great - and they want more of it. Having said that, if you want to be taken seriously on a national scale, you’ve got to upgrade your non-conference schedule to something a lot better than Old Dominion, Kennesaw State, and the Fighting Sycamores, which is how they start 2025.

The National Media wants IU fans to feel like shit. It's filtered down to the haters. They don't want people to feel good about an 11 win season after winning 9 games in 3 years. It's the equivalent of when Corydon made it to the Semi-State and lost to Chatard and "if" people acted like they didn't belong there. Bullshit.
