Wanna wager (friendly) he will eventually flip to LSU or Texas before signing day? IMO, these early committments these days are just to leverage for a better offer (as in MONEY) for the local school, I opin that the move to OSU verbal is to leverage LSU to not come short on the package expecting him to take the home town discount. Just my theory

New season will be here soon! No new coaches in the PLAC. Coach Daniels at Charlestown is the only new coach in the MSC. Eastern Pekin becomes independent and Madison joins in the MSC this year, correct? Will new transfer rules become a factor this year in our area?

A buddy of mine was recently hired as head coach at a JUCO in Daytona. He has had a late start replacing half his roster and is in need of OL and DL. Maybe a TE and QB. Must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA. They can offer some scholarship money. If you have any players looking to continue playing and have not found a school yet, feel free to contact me. In observance of the 94th anniversary of the untimely death of Knute Rockne, I was thinking of the greatest college coaches of all time. Who would be the 4 on your Mt. Rushmore? Try to avoid recency bias. My 4, in no particular order, are Knute Rockne, Nick Saban, Bud Wilkinson and Bear Bryant. For those who don’t know the details about Rockne, he coached Notre Dame from 1918-1930, compiling a record of 105-12-5, and winning 3 national championships, before dying in a plane crash on March 31, 1931, at the young age of 43. Rock turned the Irish into a national power with his brilliant offensive innovations. He practically invented the forward pass, and was among the first to use shifting and motion to create an offensive advantage at the point of attack. Who knows how many wins he would have put up, but for his untimely death.

Dumbest setting ever....but what would I know.

Unfortunately no one is beating down the doors of schools with great academics, and if they are, I doubt they are making a difference on Friday Nights. I've said it for a couple years now, students aren't going to schools for the academic purposes, they are going there for the athletic facilities and culture. Not that it doesn't help, but for most I don't think it's the number one selling point. Now, have a few more seasons like you had last year along with that pitch and you might see more numbers coming into your school.

Zac is a good dude. High energy, loves the kids, and very passionate. I enjoyed having him around when he was with our program in 2012/13.
