  1. I'll never understand why the Harding kids were spread out between New Haven, Heritage, and Woodlan. Makes no sense geographically. Those kids could have went to schools like North Side and Snider, both with declining enrollments. Or Wayne, that would make the most sense.

  2. First, DC is too high, second, I just trust the 6A teams in the top 10 more. They are battle tested and play high quality opponents every week. Maybe New Pal goes 5-3 against the rest of the top 10, maybe they go 3-5. Additionally, who has DC beaten this year? Nobody. My question to you is Avon, who you have ranked at 18, beat DC head to head and you have DC at 10….

  3. I think you're grossly underestimating Westfield while over estimating Crown Point. Westfield has far more talent than Crown Point. Outside of Gibbs Crown Point has taken a major step back in skill talent in comparison to the past 2 years.

  4. Well, you ranking them I think 3rd in the state gets it started. I see bashing of Crown Point’s schedule and their schedule is tougher than New Pal’s. Full disclosure, I think New Pal is good, but if they played some 6A teams in Indy what would that record look like?

  5. How hot is James Franklin’s seat, after gagging on another one last week, and then losing to lowly UCLA today?

  6. UCLA 42 - Penn State 37, Big game James NEVER fails to amaze me…

  7. Nobody in the Region can compete with Crown Point’s lines (OL/DL) or coaching staff. Those advantages are negated against Westfield, Carmel, etc. They don’t have much speed at RB. They don’t have any WR’s that can dominate a secondary like Carmel or Westfield. They lost a 4 year starter at WB to the MAC and his replacement isn’t better.

  8. I understand the premise here, but just for context: the 4 schools you list above (Jeff, Harrison, McCutcheon, and WL) are in the Lafayette metro area for lack of a better term, but are spread across 3 different corporations. Very different, at least to my understanding, with what is happening with the Terre Haute schools.

  9. is it really that hard to just carry the ball across the end zone? Arizona deserves all of that loss

  10. Harding was in the East Allen County Schools district, so they had to distribute the students within the district to New Haven, Heritage, and Woodlan. North Side, Wayne, South Side, and Snider are all part of the Fort Wayne Community Schools district. It is not really an issue now with open enrollment, but transportation probably prevents many students from going to one of the FWCS schools.

  11. Yet Crown Point continues to win games in impressive fashion. Westfield has the talent, presuming Crown Point has the coaching? Show me a game this year that suggests that Crown Point has taken a step back. Until then, Crown Point over Westfield.

  13. Sanchez attacked a 69 year old man who was on the job? https://fox59.com/news/indycrime/former-nfl-qb-mark-sanchez-charged-after-surveillance-video-shows-alleged-fight-in-downtown-indy-alley/ Sanchez faces misdemeanor criminal charges of Battery Resulting in Injury, Public Intoxication, and Unlawful Entry of a Motor Vehicle for his alleged role in the altercation. According to newly released court documents, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police were called to Loughmiller’s Pub and Eatery on West Washington Street around 12:35 a.m. When officers arrived, they found Sanchez suffering from several stab wounds to his upper torso. A second man was found in a nearby alley with cuts to his face. This 69-year-old man was working between the Westin Hotel and the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, collecting used cooking oil as part of his job. Video shows the men circling the truck before a struggle broke out near a large dumpster. Detectives say Sanchez threw the victim toward the dumpster, and the two fought between the truck and the wall. The 69-year-old told police he used pepper spray to defend himself, but when Sanchez continued advancing, he thought “this guy is trying to kill me” and pulled out a knife and stabbed Sanchez several times in self-defense. According to the court documents, video gathered from the nearby Marriott hotel “closely matches” the victim’s account.

  14. Colts whip up on the Raiders, 40-6. I sure hope the Colts place kicker isn't injured too severely. It looked serious when it happened.

  15. I think Perry/Southport should combine for athletics.

  16. This is true and confirmed. Besides Dangerfield and Papas, their are two sophomores one in injured and there are 2 solid Freshman running backs and one of them is injured. I might also add that the Cathedral Irish Freshman had a great win over a solid and undefeated CG team, 16-8

  17. Sorry. I reread. You are using John Harrell. I posted Jeff Sagarin. My bad.

  18. CG relying on very young backs, with a young QB. Not sure how much they could adjust last night. Cathedral wisely sending more than the OL could pick up. Not sure young backs could recognize and pick it up or had confidence they could become safety valves for the QB to dump it off. Also not sure what a young QB can recognize at this point. Lots to work on in practice. Great D plan by the Irish.

  19. I've got Westfield on equal footing with Carroll and not as good as Crown Point. Carmel beats Westfield by 24, so maybe they beat Carroll by 24. Maybe not. Carroll dismantled their only common opponent with Westfield with far more ease, so the Chargers have that going for them. But lets just say that Carroll and Westfield are equal, which they probably are. Carmel beats beats Carroll by a similar margin of 24. Now, go back to the first sentence. My prediction is Carmel over Crown Point by 14.

  21. New Pal is good. But the unfortunate reality is that you can't dub yourself the best team in the state until you run through 6A.

  23. With Center Grove and Carmel rejoining the MIC next season, once they start playing a full round robin again, I hope Center Grove and Cathedral go back to playing each other in week 9. It would be a damn shame if this series was discontinued. Plus, I'd much rather see Cathedral vs. Center Grove than Cathedral vs. Warren Central or Center Grove vs. Pike.

  25. Cathedral was down to one running back, as Xavier Dangerfleld was out, and will be until the sectionals. The Irish don't have 6 or 7 RB's. Jimmy Pappas carried the ball 34 times last night. It's a real feather in the cap to beat Center Grove, especially two years in a row. That's one fine football program!

  26. Hence why nobody should ever take Sparty seriously. Their line play is awful and always has been

  27. I think it's way more astounding that you have only played 5 6A teams in your history. Cathedral plays 5 a year! I guess with conference commitments it checks out, but thought NP would go out and chase it a bit more.

  28. New Castle, Shenandoah, Eastern Hancock, Lapel, Centerville and Northeastern are all in contiguous counties. If Delta joins, they'd also be contiguous. The travel for Delta and New Castle would be less than in the HHC. Lapel-to-Northeastern will be a haul, but the rest are pretty manageable. It's not like there's a Richmond-to-Lafayette or Lafayette-to-Terre Haute trip in this league.

  29. Some of those yards have to be credited to Boise State bringing their own officials. In fact, all visiting teams bring their own league officials. Most of the calls were warranted, but there were a few that were a bit questionable. I wish the Irish could remedy this situation, but the only way to do that is join a conference, and that ain't happening anytime soon.
