  1. Warren beating Center Grove really shouldn’t have been surprising. They just beat them in the regional and returned most of the team. If Carmel or CG or any other historical power returned the amount of D1 talent that Warren has after a semi state run, we’d be talking about them on a short list of favorites to make it to Lucas Oil. Not sure why everyone is sleeping on Warren.

  3. I think people expected more from Pike Central as well. But it's Pike Central, so you never really know what to expect.

  4. I’d put Floyd Central in the “teams to watch” category.

  5. Didn't they have like 3 SEC type dlineman on a team that didn't make it past the regional? And haven't made it past the regional since 2018 other than last year? Just a hunch that is why.

  6. Last Friday had some surprises with Small School Division teams winning 3 matchups against Big Schools. Throw in North Daviess handling Washington. Forest Park, Tecumseh, and North Posey over Mt Vernon, Princeton, and Southridge. Just one week. But maybe something to keep an eye on as the season progresses.

  10. They're a talented team, probably in the top 20 in the state. However, With the brutal MIC schedule they play they probably finish 4-5. I think they beat Zionsville, Pike, and North Central, and lose to Lawrence North, Warren Central, Center Grove, Ben Davis, and Carmel. Jeffersonville is an easy opponent for LC to play, but you've got to celebrate every win you can get when you're projected to lose more games than you win, especially with the margin of victory LC had.

  11. Association always promoting playing vs not playing: Been more push to get behind 8 man, which I think is most logical if the goal is to play the great game of football.

  15. HSE and Fishers should not be in the top 25. Fishers lost 47-0 and HSE was down 40-0 in the 4th quarter. Reward results and how teams play, not where they are from

  17. Just throwing out a number. Most of the football teams I see in person are 4A or higher so I have no idea what’s normal for 1A. I just get frustrated hearing about some teams constantly struggling to field teams. Maybe moving to 8-man football would alleviate that a bit. If we get enough 8-man teams then maybe it can be taken more seriously and we can have an IHSAA-sanctioned tournament for it.

  19. I'm a little partial to this helmet. Castle High School's football helmet hasn't changed a whole lot in 47 years (1973-2020). The Castle "C" on both sides with 2 navy blue stripes and a 1 yellow stripe down the middle. Go Knights!
