  1. It has been some time since it was posted. But I believe your basic premise for what you believe is that people should be allowed to do whatever they want as long as it does no harm to others or infringe upon the rights of others. Has that changed now? also, being a supporter of a strict and limited interpretation of the Constitution, my next question is how do you define the phrase “promote the general welfare”?

  3. This young man has been an impressive young man for quite a while. While I am sad he went to Purdue lol; I wish him nothing but success. This is fun to listen tpo; even though the person doing the interview is clueless about the game lol https://facingfearwithsara.buzzsprout.com/651715/3504874-s3e3-just-a-kid-from-warren-purdue-football-s-big-10-freshman-of-the-year-david-bell

  4. I’m looking to create a bracket to determine the best high school football helmet in Indiana, which will then be entered into the national tournament. Similar Twitter poll-rna,ents have taken place in Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, etc. So I figured why not get Indiana in the mix. i was hoping you all could help get this off the ground by getting as many schools involved as possible. Heres the link link to my tweet. Hope to start next Friday. https://twitter.com/sports_aaron/status/1256221838155190272?s=21

  8. Proof of what? The original chart I posted explains how the countries with the lower numbers in the chart managed it. Sorry, but I don't type with my mouth. Do you sanitize your keyboard before gumming yours? Please post a picture.

  10. That makes sense. My personal freedom has not been removed because I am taking a moral approach to personal responsibility. There sure are a lot of immoral people attending protests.

  12. That does not address anything about what I posted. How many spouses are still with your siblings? Why leave them out? How many people work in your factory? The fact is the statistical probability that everyone you mentioned knows no one who has tested positive is slim at best. Statistically speaking, there is only six degrees of separation between any of us, as far as who we know. So, if we look at the number of people you mentioned and who they know alone, the probability of none of them knowing someone who tested positive is even slimmer. My other question....did you in fact talk to every single one of the people you mentioned yesterday if they are still at the point of not knowing anyone who has tested positive? Or are you just making an assumption?

  13. Moving these comments to a more apt thread. The real statistic missing is what percentage of these 1.5 million have actually been tested? The percentage cited means nothing without knowing this. Agree.

  14. Someone who is better at Math than me is wanting to figure out what the likelihood of this post being factual is. How many people in the plant you work at? How many siblings are married? And all of these people live in the Central Indiana or even Metro Indy area? Metro meaning the surrounding counties, Central an even wider range. For those that are math geniuses here, you can help as well; there are 6.327 positive cases in Marion County. The surrounding counties have 3,609 positive cases. That means the metro area has a total of 9,936 positive cases. So, what are the odds that the 77 people Howe mentioned above and apparently talked to today (right along with every person who works in the same plant he does), know no one who has tested positive.

  15. The ONLY reason to separate people who may know someone with the virus, or who has died as a result, is to push the narrative of the virus itself being a hoax. There is no logical , or even a common sense reason for making that distinction. One of my professors from IUPUI passed away last week. Paul Loggan, the AD at North Central passed away; while not a close friend, he definitely was not an unfamiliar face. We were in the same parish in Indy for a number of years. The previous principal in our high school was on life support because of it. While he survived, he has a LONG road to recovery ahead of him; and possibly permanent damage to his lungs as a result. A friend from the Northern part of FW here, was never admitted to the hospital, but had it early on, and is still struggling to get back to 100%. I have a high school friend who lost a parent because of it. So, is it REALLY that hard to believe that people here (regardless of them being democrat or republican) know someone with it or who has passed as a result? I am not surprised there are individuals who don't know someone yet...........yet.

  17. I know there's a lot of opinions when news comes out like this, especially with him decommitting from an in-state school. This young man's three main reasons for committing to IU were the Kelly School of Business, the strength & conditioning program (Dave Ballou and Dr. Rhea), and the DL Coach (Mark Hagen). Since Rodney's commitment, Coach Hagen was named DL coach at Texas and Dave Ballou and Dr. Rhea both took jobs at Alabama. No one can blame those guys for making those moves that they deemed were best for them and their respective families. Due to those changes, none of which he had control over, Rodney decided that Penn State was a better fit. Imagine agreeing to take a new job with a new boss and a new location. Then between agreeing to take the job and starting your first day, the boss who you wanted to work for left and the location changed. You may (or may not) decide to now not take the job because the situation is different. That's all that happened here. Completely understandable if you look at the situation through the lens of the student-athlete. Coach Allen is absolutely top notch and Indiana is in great hands with him at the helm of the program. It was simply that the things that were most important to Rodney are now not the same.

  19. I've been thinking about the first comment in bold and I'm not so sure there would be the same fan appetite for high school football in the spring. Especially if the NFL and NCAA seasons go off in the fall, even if just on television. The average person would have gotten their "fix" and would be ready to move on to the more traditional calendar. It sounds ridiculous to think about this too, but families are still going to go on vacations in the spring and early summer too regardless of what sports are being played. You stand to lose players and fans to spring break, the timing of which varies from school to school of course. And before you scoff at that notion, do two things; ask a spring sport coach what the most annoying thing about playing in the spring is, most will tell you it is navigating spring break. Secondly, look at how many people still traveled this past spring break as we went from 0 to 100 on restrictions, because I can tell you in our area it was a lot of folks. Do I still have an appetite for football in the spring? Hell yes! I tried to watch every AAF and XFL game I could. My wife, who I would say is a more casual fan even though she is more rabid than most, on the other hand? Her appetite is not near as strong. She's ready to garden come the spring. I have to remind myself sometimes that most folks out there just don't care as much about football as I/we do. They have other concerns in life. They love football when it's on, but they can, will, and do survive just fine without it. As with all this, I could be wrong; may interest skyrockets, but I don't think it's a slam dunk. To the second comment, at this point, I'm afraid that even if "social distancing" is done away with tomorrow, you are still going to have a significant portion of the population who will continue these practices out of fear for their health, whether they are told the threat is mitigated or not. That portion of the population may "social distance" for years, which is their right of course. My fear is that that portion of the population may be bigger than any of us realize.

  30. No, it has not changed. How do I define that phrase? Well since a preamble, which that phrase is a part of, does not confer additional powers to those granted or recognized in a statute or constitution, it is just a "nice too have" feel-good statement of little real substance. I'll also point you here: https://individualrightsgovernmentwrongs.com/founding-fathers/the-founders-and-the-general-welfare/ Thomas Jefferson called the phrase “a mere ‘grammatical quibble’ that has countenanced the general government in a claim of universal power”. He mistakenly believed that the Founder’s had clarified their intentions and meaning, and debate over the meaning of the phrase would cease. The Founders clearly understood the “general welfare” to mean the good of all citizens, not an open-ended mandate for Congress. The only good that applies to all citizens is freedom, and government’s proper role is the protection of that freedom. That was the meaning intended by the Founders. Those who sought to expand government’s powers chose to ignore the explanations offered by the Founders. Corrupted by bad philosophy, they rejected the principles of the Founders and of the Constitution.
