  1. Sheridan has scrimmaged C'ville for many years, they play WeBo to open the season (goes back 40+ years) and they have played North Mont in years past. They could compete with those schools, but not sure they would jump ship from the HHC. I would think if they could keep Clinton Central on the schedule (the SHS/Kirklin-CC rivalry goes back over 100 years) that would keep some folks happy.

  2. School boundaries are already set and are not changed by annexation. If the area is part of the WeBo school district and is annexed by Lebanon, the school districts would have to agree on the boundaries being changed. I believe in Indiana school boundaries are determined by township lines. Those are not affected by annexation. For an example, look at Noblesville and the number of Noblesville residents who attend HSE Schools.

  3. With the Eli Lilly development in Boone County I would've thought Western Boone should see some good growth as well over the next 10 years.

  5. Maybe that’s why our track meets with Bloomington South were always on Final Four Saturday at 10 AM. Never had Saturday track meets against any other team unless it was part of a multi-team invitational.

  6. Also of note most scheduling software just automatically fills in the corresponding date for next year if you don’t manually intervene. Seymour softball still plays Clarksville on a Saturday at 2:00 which is a really odd time for a HS SB game. The reason why is in 2011 I had to move the game back because I had like five starters taking the ACT that morning. So 12 years later it’s still the same.

  7. That doesn't seem like much of a reason to switch it up, imo.

  8. The Vikings are now ranked #24 in the nation by Maxpreps. Led by Michigan commit Erin Hoehn, the undefeated Vikings are looking to improve upon their runner up finish last year. Its a nice recognition for these girls and all their hard work. Fellow Hoosiers Indianapolis Roncalli is ranked 3rd. High school softball rankings: Playoff wins, losses shaping MaxPreps Top 25

  9. Not sure if this is reading into something but here is this FROM THE NORTH PUTNAM YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE: Good Afternoon Cougar Nation!!!! Just wanted to drop in with some very important and exciting news about our upcoming youth football season! Our board recently has sat down with each other several times, along with board members from NorthMont, SouthMont, Crawfordsville, and Western Boone, and our North Putnam board has voted to leave the West Central league. With that being said the new league being formed has voted and APPROVED us to join with them! So we will now officially be joining with Northmont, Southmont, Crawfordsville, and Western Boone beginning this upcoming FALL 2023!!! This is going to be so much easier and better for our community and our youth players and parents. We will adapt to the new league and their new age groups as well, starting now with our ROOKIES team now being a FLAG ONLY K-1st grade team, our Minors will now be 2-3rd graders and tackle, and our Majors 4-5th graders and tackle, and now our 6th grade boys and girls will be a solo team and tackle as well. We will need your help COUGAR NATION spreading the word as we try to venture into flag again, and to get as many as we can to sign up at all ages. We also will be doing online sign-ups again, that will begin here very soon, and I will update on here with all that information. I will have flyers going out to all the schools to let you know more information and also more important dates, and I will be getting those out before the end of the school year. Feel free to let us know any questions you may have, and we will respond as soon as we can. Thank you and we look forward to this huge step in our program and our community!! GO COUGARS!!!!!!

  10. Yes it is. He asked, "why can't it be switched up every other year" and I replied with "why does it need to be" I don't understand why it would ever need switched. That's ridiculous. It makes no sense, there's no need, to just randomly switch up the schedule. What purpose would that serve?

  11. My opinion is that stereotyping is what causes problems. To assume all feel one way or the other is incorrect. There are Native Americans that proudly support nicknames such as Seminoles, Utes, and Chippewas. Perhaps aligning with those groups of Native Americans makes more sense and also getting their input on mascot design. https://www.espn.com/blog/playbook/fandom/post/_/id/18484/tribe-supports-native-american-mascots I struggle a lit bit with giving the "Fighting Irish" nickname and logo a pass. The logo can absolutely been seen as a stereotype for Irish people. Of course they fight...that's what they do, right? I absolutely would understand why many people of Irish descent don't support the logo or name. https://onmessage.nd.edu/athletics-branding/logos/leprechaun/
