  1. It’s funny, I know you’re Parkurst just by the way you’re making stuff up. That coach was forced out by other teachers at Valpo after he posted motivational fliers across the school some felt “uncomfortable” with. The players were not happy about this at all and literally voiced their frustrations in the paper. This is well documented.
  2. Right now this is how I would rank the teams: 1. Crown Point - Last year they lacked a passing game and they’re bringing in some transfers to address that. They return most of the O-Line and the Defense. They have the best coaching staff in the area. They are undoubtedly the team to beat in the DAC. 2. Valpo - They return 19 starters and also boast a very good coaching staff themselves. The defense will be stingy and the offense will wear teams out. And Clark proved last year he can make the clutch throws needed to really put this team over the top. 3. Lake Central - This team was really coming into their own towards the end of last year and you can see that in their box scores. 3rd year under Rick Goode and they’ll look to turn a corner. They return their starting backfield (the QB that transferred to Hobart was the backup). If they can play solid defense, they should be able to ride physical Big Ten commit RB Xavier Williams to victory in many of their games. 4. Chesterton - They return their QB and their overall best player RB/LB Garrett Lewis. They always play solid defense and last year they were more physical running the ball which was nice to see from them. Think they’ll be a tough out. 5. Merrillville - Lost almost all of their production from last year and QB is a big question mark for them right now. They’ll still be dangerous because they play in what is probably pound-for-pound the worst sectional in the entire state. If they can figure things out they’ll have a chance to make a run at the end. But I doubt they’ll be anything more than middle of the pack this year in the regular season. 6. Michigan City - This team has the talent to be ranked higher than this. But their schedule top to bottom is very tough and even the “easy” games (Portage/LaPorte) look like they might not be so easy (Roy Richards knowing this team as their DC for the past several season and LaPorte being a rivalry game MC lost last year). I have a feeling a season like last year’s could be in the works again. 7. Portage - This team will be better because they now have one of the best head coaches in the conference at the helm. But I just don’t think they have the depth, especially in the trenches, to really compete consistently. 8. LaPorte - This program is even more of a mess than it was last year, when they managed two conference wins. I’d be surprised if they reached that total this year.
  3. ✅ Another really dumb Parkhurst post
  4. Definitely an empty ending for their season last year, but also I don't think anyone up here had expected them to run roughshod through their opponents for the first ten games though. They just ran into a team with a good game plan and a D1 RB who they simply could not stop that night. They return almost all of the defense and the O-Line, and bring in a legit D1 receiver and a QB who maybe has the potential to play D1 if he can put everything together. I think this should help as they were very one-dimensional offensively last year, which really haunted them against Jeff. They have a very good coaching staff top to bottom, located in a growing, wealthy town with only one high school, have great facilities they are investing even more money in, and have a strong youth program in place with CP Junior Bulldogs. As long as Buz's health holds up, I can see them turning into a perennial power up north. Whether that means they can compete with the teams from down south is another story.
  5. To clear up some confusion, Davis did play against Penn last year. He got hurt week 4 against Chesterton. Big difference in the Penn game was Justin Clark was not at QB for Valpo, he came in halfway through week 3 against MC when the original starter got hurt. Big thing for Valpo was that Clark and Davis didn’t play a whole game together in the backfield until the sectional championship against Chesterton, and they really didn’t start clicking offensively until the second half of the regional against Merrillville. That’s when it became clear that the combo of Davis inside and Clark outside would be hard for teams to deal with. Which you saw against Snider and Whiteland. As for whether Valpo should be considered a top 10 team all classes currently, I’d have to say no. Even if I give them that they weren’t at their full potential during those games, they played two middle of the road 6A teams last year and did not fair well against either of them. Right now, I think they’ll beat Penn (they had beaten them the previous 4 years before last), but I don’t think they will beat CP. Is CP a top ten all class team? Right now the answer is obviously no. Not just the 6A teams, is Valpo better than East Central, Roncalli, or New Pal? Probably not. They are a blue blood but they are not as good as they were when they took Carmel and then New Park down to the wire in back to back years.
  6. Will this be the first time an Indiana team has played a team from California?
  7. I think Seiss would agree with you, but I don't think there's really anything he can do about it.
  8. Pretty certain this has been said before, but Merrillville's admin won't let Seiss schedule any non-conference games other than Andrean and Hobart because they always get those games at home and the gate. Seiss has been pretty open about that fact.
  9. This is really ironic coming from the guy who constantly shouts about the latest moral crisis to no one on the OOB forum.
  10. Exactly. At some point you have to stop blaming everyone else and need to start looking at yourself...
  11. Unless Irsay is the AD at Ben Davis I don't like Jeff's chances
  12. Well a great job opportunity just opened up...
  13. Either way, this study isn't be judged in a court of law, rather the court of public opinion. And it's not a good look for the NFL or football in general.
  14. Someone's gotta stick up for all my friend's dads
  15. Man. I really wanted him to come back with the Niners, win the Super Bowl, and stick it to his ex-wife for all the divorced men across the country.
  16. Carmel and CG getting back into the MIC would be hysterical, but truthfully would be a good thing. The conference was fine as it was.
  17. Eh, I'll play: Shoe-Ins: Avon and Brownsburg Unsure: Cathedral Longshot Package: Fishers and HSE
  18. It's almost like they should've never kicked out two members to begin with...
  19. Honestly I'm not sure on the community support as since Griffith left the NCC for the GSSC I haven't been able to see any of their games in person. Talent level I think is fair to say is down a bit judging from their results. I think it'll be an uphill climb getting them anywhere close to what they used to be. And being in the sectional with WL is a real killer. But Mason doesn't like to lose...
  20. Absolutely no way they can bring him back after all that. Getting your best WR's back broken in a meaningless game is bad enough but that collapse was the nail in the coffin
