  1. I love dudes that have a passion for GS, and you squarely fall into that category. Let's just see who lands on the schedule, I know where I can get a couple of crows.
  2. It says that Jasper's new coach inherited a generational team and culture when he was at Reitz. Show me what he has done since. Jasper hasn't been Jasper for close to a decade in football and I don't look for this hire to change that.
  3. If your regular season games are meaningless...you’re doing it wrong.
  4. I like "all in" as Indiana has comparably a small number of football playing schools. The blind draw has never been blind....and one small tweak as suggested by the coaches to the IHSAA of just making sure the top two teams (by whatever criteria you wanna use...Sagarin, etc.), should be on opposite sides of the bracket. About 85% of the complaining goes away by making that small adjustment. I would support doing away with the scrimmage to add a game.
  5. I know it's early...but I wish more coaches had this done! (as if they aren't busy). 😁 Calpreps team previews! http://calpreps.com/preview/football_index_new.html
  6. The whole issue is the timing of the implementation....stinks for GS softball.
  7. Teams will have the choice on crossover or non-conference.
  8. Yes GS would have one cross-over (Maybe SR) and 3 non-conference games. One of the three would probably remain Southport. The week one and week two games are probably unknown at this point but might include: Columbus North, Bloomington South, Henderson KY, New Albany, Owensboro or Clarksville TN. https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/06/05/pocket-athletic-conference-schools-ok-football-league-merger-big-eight-vote-next/3501253002/
  9. Me either but I think they have been really good at softball over the years. Don’t quote me on that.
  10. I think Boonville wanted to be the "new" Jasper....you can build a lot of "tradition" being the big fish in a little pond.
  11. Any gain is a gain....but the big gain is to free up non-conference games (ie moving Princeton from non-conference to conference)....that his potentially HUGE for us!
  12. Fat finger...first big team should have said BV not MV.
  13. Well....purely from a GS fan standpoint with no inside knowledge. I could see something like this?: Big = MV, W, GS, HH, P, MTV Small = SR, NP, SS, TC, FP, PC For us, we would play Boonville Princeton and Mt. Vernon as opposed to Tell City, Forest Park, and Pike Central. Probably get a cross-over game or optional 3rd non-conference game (maybe a SR here). And we get Princeton off our non-conference schedule to open up our non-conference games to some games more on the challenging end of the spectrum. So I think there is potentially a LOT to gain.
  14. The PAC will at least examine the potential of adding the 4 former Big 8 schools. For football one strategy might be creating two divisions with three non-conference games each. The issue will become the SIAC will no longer be an option for non-conference games if they just set their conference up for everyone to play the new members. Perhaps we can go after some of their old non-conference opponents.
  15. I think there is only one school with the stones to move to the SIAC left in the area. A PAC expansion is probably the most likely option at this hour....but this stuff has taken a lot of twists and turns so who knows.
  16. Looks like it's a win-win for you then as Vincennes appears to also have a top-notch baseball program!
  17. The only benefit I would see is if they stick with the 2 division idea (big small) leaving us with three non-conference games, two of which in weeks 1 and 2. I totally agree about the field at Washington.
  18. I think it is a logical assumption that at least some portion of the remaining 4 Big 8 teams would like to join the PAC.
  19. You know what they say...Pizza is like S3X....even when it is bad...it's still pretty good.
  20. As someone who has a substantial amount of both....Sandy's is better than Bobe's. Congrats to the SIAC for obtaining two historic programs rich in tradition. I think the Jasper Castle football game will have some atmosphere to it....not sure why just a gut feeling. Also, tons of respect for these two schools purposely putting themselves in situations across most sports where they will have to complete at a higher level than they are historically accustomed to. I think this demonstrates a certain amount of faith in their communities to step up to meet the challenge.
