  1. CG is definitely the better team but yes Carmel is rolling and it would be a rivalry game. But this can wait another week.
  2. Can’t believe this is a topic! The climate is milder now than 40-50 years ago! State championship game 1975, Carmel @ Valpo. Temp was low teens and wind chill was -20. Mark Herrmann, who at that time held just about every state passing record, was essentially neutralized by the weather. Final score..... Valpo 14 Carmel 13.
  3. WTF? Stay in your lane!
  4. It seems both South Putnam and Covenant Christian were undervalued, yet both of those sectional championship games were arguably the best games of the night. I’m not predicting a winner, but I’m hearing Sput has a heck of a defense. If they can get to the QB it will be difficult for Covenant to score like they have been. Thoughts?
  5. Of course you meant Evansville Central.
  6. Deceiving in that Brownsburg was not going to be in a position to win regardless of the turnovers. Carmel was physically better on both sides of the ball and the advance scouting was spot on.
  7. Sagarin lists Hobart as a 27 point favorite on a neutral field.
  8. I’d also go with the Hounds. The Brownsburg score of 21-7 is deceiving. It was never that close. Carmel is poised to win the regional and seek revenge on the trouncing CG gave them in week 2. Carmel 35 Ben Davis 14
  9. Seating capacity will have more to do with availability than anything else. Currently the Colts can have 12,500. I don’t know if that is a number for Colts games or a number for any event in LOS. That number is not going up anytime soon and could possibly go down. LOS and the IHSAA are going to have to get creative in order to maximize availability seating for each game.
  10. Will you love it still if/when ND football players test positive in a couple of weeks? The coaching staff made no effort to shield the players from the swarm of students. Repeated shots of players and fans hugging and high fiving...... some wearing masks, some not. Personally I was shocked at the lack of crowd control.
  11. How does that work? I know they don’t offer football scholarships. Are they compensated for school costs in other ways?
  12. Yes. And all #2’s with the exception of Indy Lutheran.
  13. This is obviously a Hollywood movie ala “Remember the Titans” in the making. Rival schools are merged. Fighting at practices (possibly embellished). In fighting amongst coaches (possibly embellished). A blond haired California surfer emerges at QB (definitely embellished). T. C. Williams, aka Elkhart, goes undefeated and ends up in Lucas Oil (definitely embellished)! Elkhart over Merrillville !
  14. This may be the most “2020” post of the year!
  15. 1. IU is a better team than Michigan, player ratings be damned. 2. When has Cathedral overlooked anyone? 3. What does disrespect have to do with performance? Wouldn’t it only improve it? 4. You already owe me a lunch. Want to go double or nothing? I’ll take the Irish and spot you 13 points.
  16. Let’s say I agree with your “most physical teams at any level”. In Fisher’s now 16 seasons as head coach they have won 3 sectionals. And who took them out all 3 times in the regional? You guessed it. And none of them were close. How do you justify your claim?
  17. I absolutely love the fact that St. X’s only losses were to Indiana teams!
  18. Yes it would be colossal. Which is why it won’t happen. Cathedral has gone “toe-to-toe” with 6 teams this year that are better than Whiteland.... and beat 5 of them.
  19. Have not seen them play. But Mike Kirshner is building the program and the players have bought in. They are in a good 4A conference and ran the table. Sagarin has all 4 of the teams mentioned within a point and a half of each other. Nothing will surprise me!
  20. You know IU had no control on tickets, right? Up to 1,000 for each school for player’s families, then students. ND attendance was listed at 46,500. How they were allowed to do that I have no idea. And the students rushed the field. Players mingling with fans and high fiving .... a Covid super spreader in the making. Absolutely agree on IU’s defense. Elite. Not bad for a bunch of 3-star players, eh DT? I don’t see a win in Columbus, but it will be interesting to see how they hang. One things for sure, Indiana will get everyone’s best shot from here on out!
  21. The Brickies will be favored to represent the north at LOS. Then will be the underdog to 1 of 4 teams that survive down south..... E. Central, Mooresville, Mt. Vernon or Roncalli.
  22. I’m sure OSU will dial up some kind of scheme to take away IU’s receivers. If Penix jr can stay upright then yes they can keep it close. I know the defense will bring it!
