  1. In addition to the Midwest, the Hoosier Heartland and Wabash River would be viable. There's also this Monon thing or even Sagamore, but BC is a basketball first conference....
  2. They're almost a perfect fit for the Midwest.
  3. All good, brudda!
  4. My two cents, sorry you were rubbed the wrong way...
  5. Let it be known I'm not a Bears fan. But since I live in the Chicago area, I have observed a few things: 1. QB situation: although Caleb Williams may be a "generational talent", how good was he at USC against those mediocre-at-best Pac-12 defenses? Do the Bears have an O-line to protect him? 2. WR room: injuries, inconsistent play. and having to lean on recent draft picks to produce a lot. 3. Who do they have at running back? 4. The defense needs to set up, not being very monster-like at this juncture. 5. Stadium issues--yes, Soldier Field was once an amazing venue but is now one of the smallest in the NFL. Iam not in favor of a new downtown stadium, why shackle residents with more taxes? Build it at the old Arlington Park site or Rosemont. 6. Ownership--someone needs to let the geriatric McCaskeys know, it is no longer 1985.
  6. Although things don't look good, most fields have turf, so...
  7. "Even the darkest night will, and the sun shall rise..."
  8. No, these games don't feature Brownsburg, Crown Point, or any other team with that far from creative nickname. It's just all of teams playing have less than stellar win-loss records this season: Bedford North Lawrence-Jennings County--in honor of Damon Bailey, I'll take the Stars. Bishop Dwenger-Northrop--Sr. Rita would paddle me if I didn't pick the Catholics! Bowman Academy-North White--Although I used to date a NW alumna, gotta go with the MWC Caston-Culver--although the Comets bailed from the MWC, I'm stuck on Caston's epically long bus rides. Corydon Central-Salem--I know a girl from our former state capitol--sweet girl. Going with the Lions on this one. Goshen-Wawasee--even if Ricker Mirerererer was playing, the Redhawks would go down to WHS. Union City-Union County--the Union must be preserved at all costs. Good luck to all!
  9. To the victor the spoils. We will, we will rock you. If it ain't worth winning big, it ain't worth winning. Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing. I am a soldier; I fight where I am told, and I win where I fight. Victory belongs to the most persevering Full effort is full victory. Faith is necessary for victory. Victory: a matter of staying power. Winners never quit and quitters ever win.
  10. Look, football isn't a peace & love/everybody gets a trophy kind of thing. It's violent and abrasive and as Jessie Spano (played by the lovely Elizabeth Berkeley) said in a "Saved by the Bell" episode, "it's a bunch of barbarians trying to kick each other's butts." So, lopsided scores are part of the game, deal with it.
  11. "Greed is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed cuts through, clarifies, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit." --you know who (Gordon Gekko/Michael Douglas) because it is far too early for me to be wise.
  12. BC, winless at 0-5, has been beat by over 35 in 4 occasions this season. The only time they didn't is when South Newton beat them by 13.
  13. Again, I don't believe there's only hostility, just kids being kids....
  14. 51-3 49-14 52-13 52-7 87-10 These are some of the biggest margins of victory over the weekend...in college football. So, are the victors merciless oppressors OR are they from a power conference flaying a far inferior opponent?
  15. Quite a few, but i don't think that's based on any animosity toward BC. While the starters were probably pulled, the subs aren't probably thinking about humanity. They want to score as bad as the starters did.
  16. Not surprised. Great win for the Irish.
  17. Although I haven’t seen the Cathedral-North Central score, I nailed everything else… …big up!!!
  18. The Rebs are having a good season, but things are about to get a little tougher. If they emerge 3-2, I’ll be happy. Breakdown: TC—SN’s true rival—Cavs are always a tough out, but I’m picking SN 39-34 West Central—tough season in Francesville—Rebs 29, WC 14 Monon—Same deal, but only on Monon—SN 33, Vikes 13 Park Tudor—why is this even on the schedule? PT 50, SN 23 Frontier—New Coach in Brookston who knows his stuff—Falcons 41, SN 20 Pioneer and North Judson are in their Sectional—Oi vey…
  19. Actually, the game didn’t suit the metrics used, but thanks for caring. When I want your opinion, I will ask for it.
  20. Keep your eyes on these, sports fans: Benton Central-Frontier Cathedral-North Central Edinburgh-North Daviess Elwood-Madison-Grant Greenfield Central-Shelbyville Owen Valley-Northview Could get very ugly....
  21. Yep...
