  1. Thanks. To be honest, I feel like the discussion might have even been around the time Fishers HS became a 9-12 building. Have I really been around the board that long? (Nobody answer that) To bring it back to the original premise, a minimum size might make sense, but I also think a maximum size should be discussed. Does Carmel educate students better than HSE/Fishers? Should there be two HS in Clay township?
  2. I think I read on here a long time ago (pre-Covid even) that OH had a rule that high schools could not be over a certain size (2,500 comes to mind) without building another one. I have tried to find an actual law or rule but can't seem to find one. We need @Bobref our resident OH expert to chime in.
  3. Anybody who thinks lobbying for certain alignments doesn't happen is only fooling themselves. Agree completely. For as much as I would hate to find out Saturday night/ Sunday morning who my opponent was next Friday, the efficiency of classifying and seeding is such a stark contrast to the all-in ping pong ball tournament.
  4. If memory serves. That seems about normal SOP. Enrollments are released mid February but they release football, volleyball, and both basketball sectionals the same time late April. Basketball SF points will need to be updated following the state tournament this year.
  5. Two national awards are easy for Catholic schools. That's effectively 3.5 national awards at a public school.
  6. The more I look at their roster and who will be returning - along with a definite QB1 under center - I think Castle will be extremely tough next year.
  7. I’m out of reactions… but that made me spit out my drink. This is the content I am here for! 🤣 That form reminds me of the episode of Curb your Enthusiasm where Larry David stops a baptism because he thinks it’s an attempted drowning.
  8. Now that I think about it. Catholic schools are at a disadvantage. The Protestant practice of adult baptism by immersion would teach MUCH better tackling form than the Catholic sacrament.
  9. Once again. You hear what you want to hear. And nothing will change your mind to the contrary.
  10. I think the OP accidentally put Cathedral in 6A and 4A in the first two posts. Then QB coach moved up the "largest" school in each class to accommodate. Notice Guerin (3A/4A cut line) and Centerville (2A/3A line) are moved just like Providence (largest 1A but 2A in the sectional alignment projection.) That's why those projections are fun to discuss but FAR from anything official. *Question* Does IHSAA set 6A (32) then 5A (32) - then evenly divide the bottom 4 classes? Or do they set 64-64-64-60ish in 1A? I don't think there are 320+ football schools which would mean 1A gets 64 then additional teams added at 5a?
  11. Wow. Total brain fart moment on my part. I used to joke about the two years or so where Knox, Pike, and Dubois were all central before voting to move back to eastern. The voting public roundly proclaimed ‘We tried progress (Central) … but didn’t like it.’ 😀
  12. Agree on the fall count vs spring count issue. Way too early to worry about it. Salem and Charlestown (up to 4A) could really shake up the SE Indiana sectional. Washington and Bosse are right on the 3/4 cut line as well as WeBo, North Montgomery, and Centerville are close to 2/3A. Those schools could change the groupings for what was 29/30 and 31/32 in the last classifications. I do not think West Vigo will placed in the "southwest" sectional again and highly unlikely Owen Valley is either. They will almost certainly be grouped with Edgewood. Personally I would love to see Bosse go down to 3A setting up an all CENTRAL time sectional. Mt Vernon, Memorial, Mater Dei, Gibson Southern, Princeton, Heritage Hills, Southridge, and Bosse.
  13. Agreed. I’m curious about the timeframe as well. Fishers has only been a school for 15 years or so. Pretty short lifespan to be considered dynastic over a school like Ev Reitz.
  14. That was my interpretation as well. Sectionals will now be "annual" placements for football. (And maybe other sports as well?) This year's Dwenger to 4A and resulting 3-sectional shuffle occurred mid-season.

  16. Does Coach Goebel remain as the longest tenured head coach in the SIAC? Or has 40+ years patrolling the sidelines as an coordinator/HC come to an end? I would hate for an unsuccessful two point conversion against 12(!) defenders to be his last play call as a coach.
  17. It's also possible someplace east like Scottburg, Madison, or South Dearborn could return to 4A. (They have been that size before.) That might push an Edgewood to 24 like BNL was last year. Also I could see Northview coming back to 24. Unless the IHSAA keeps the bye there.
  18. RIP to Memorial’s time in sectional 24. 13-1 with 4 sectional titles over 5 years was not a bad run.
  19. *** me quickly Googling "manga" *** I guess I have lived a sheltered life, despite my public school upbringing.
  20. If the Princeton Clarion can do an ‘All-County’ team, I would think a Hamilton County team would be appropriate.
  21. That is funny. Comical, in fact. But I'm glad you heard what you wanted to hear.
  22. Ugh. Thanks for that reminder. Wodicka was a dude.
  23. I don’t care if he is going to Miami of Ohio or the Miami Academy of Hair Design - he was was the best HS player in the state of Indiana this year.
  24. 10/06/2000 Heritage Hills 90, Pike Central 0 #NeverForget Where's Muda when you need him? LOL
  25. Until Indiana crosses the 320 mark, I think 32-64-64-64-64-32 just makes so much sense. Now that Scottsburg and Silver Creek are back, would there be any schools added that weren’t at the lower end of enrollments? Maybe if TH split into a North-South-East system. Are there any other places around the state where an HSE-Fishers type split would occur?
