West Vigo at South Vermilion- Visors have some speed and seem athletic in space, WV just doesn't seem up to pace

North Central at North Vermilion- Falcons may turn some heads as the season progresses

Football is finally back!! What's the word on the scrimmages from last week?

I feel like SV is front runner this year and almost anyone else can take second place

Southmont @ FC - Both of these teams lost a TON of key players from last years squad. I think Southmont wins. 

RP @ Cloverdale - RP wins big.

Covington @ Tri County - Covington wins big

Attica @ Culver - I've heard numbers are up and that they have gotten much better from last year. Don't know much about Culver but they weren't very good last year either. I'll take Attica winning their first game in three years! 

LCC @ Seeger - LCC wins

West Vigo @ SV - SV by as much as they want

NC @ NV - Two first year coaches battling it out. Should be a fun one but I'll take NV.

Oh boy, football, real football...

Southmont @ Fountain Central - I got to watch this one last year and it was an offensive showcase until the Mounties buckled down on D. Both teams have lost a lot, but I think the Mustangs have lost more. Herb will have to work his magic this year. S-Mont 24 FC 7

Riverton Parke @ Cloverdale - Panthers ended the Clovers season last year in what was a competitive first half during sectionals. I expect the same type of game. Clovers are better, but contrary to what Donnie says, I think the boys from Mecca actually have something going here. RP 40 C-Dale 26

Covington @ Tri-County - I don't know much about the Cavaliers, but the Trojans seem to be improving. I'll take the WRC team here. Cov 24 Tri-C 14

Attica @ Culver - Lots of hype around the Rambler program this past summer. We'll see if it comes to fruition. What are the odds two different WRC teams scheduled two teams with the nickname Cavaliers on the same night? This one is a shootout, just not in Attica's favor. Culver 34 Attica 30

Lafayette Central Catholic @ Seeger - The Knights have had the Patriots number in this match up. And those have been some decent Seeger teams. I wouldn't expect this year to be any different. LCC 42 Seeger 28

West Vigo @ South Vermillion - The Vikings are the bigger school, but not the better team. The Fighting Visors seem to think this is the year they win a sectional... again. 🙄 I feel the way about the Wildcats as @Donnie Baker feels about the Panthers. And I'll say it right to his face! First dub this year over an inferior opponent in Clinton. SV 42 WV 8

North Central @ North Vermillion - New eras for both schools. The T-Birds are chucking it around the yard. The Falcons look to prove it doesn't matter who is in charge, they just play good football in Northern Vermillion county. I'll take the home team in this one, but it's close. NV 28 NC 21

Parke Heritage @ Crawfordsville - Maybe these two should play basketball. It might be more fun to watch. I think the Woolfs will struggle again this year. Athenians should have more athletes on the field, and they're at home. C-ville 23 PH 6

Not so fast Donnie. Sources at the local tanning salon say big things have been happening at SV. Sources have stated that sv has hired an EX north vermillion line coach in hopes of getting inside information on how Crabtree operated a winning program for so many years. They also stated that the line coach has been spray tanned and fitted for a new visor. Not sure who did the spraying on that one.

A case can be made for any of them up to and including Deguello. I'm extremely thankful I got to see them Live before MTV got their hold on them. World Wide Texas Tour/Market Square Arena/stage shaped like the state of Texas/Live Longhorn, rattlesnakes, armadillo onstage/Nudie suits/Fantastic.

The Squirrel apologizes for the tardiness of this post, but tonight is the night. A ton of changes have a happened to the conference we all love but the tradition of great football will continue. Now for the squirrel's picks.

RP @ the Clovers- RP looks big this year and I think the panthers have a chance for a great season. The clovers aren't good. RP wins by mercy

Covington @ Tri County- The Trojans are my dark horse team this year and the moore kid is legit and he outscores tri county by himself. Trojans win by mercy

Attica @ Culver- Is Attica better this year? Possibly but I have to see it to believe it give me culver by 2 scores

LCC @ Seeger- I think the patriots glory days are behind them and LCC recruits give me the knights

WV @ Visors- Did Barrett make a splash hire and steal crabtree's secret weapon for the past decade. I think it will pay off wildcats are by far the best team and have the top 3 players in the conference and win by mercy tonight.

NC @ NV- The crabtree era is over and NV made an interesting hire. Botner is legit and is a top 5 player in the WRC but will NV be as good upfront with no blank or davis coaching them? The state team comes back and NV hopes the 14 magic comes back but I do not know much about some of these young kids NV has. NC looked good against RP. I think this one is a toss up give me NV by a score.

Woofs @ Cville- Rector has done a great job with his situation and the Athenians usually struggle and I think the woofs take advantage and win tonight by 2 socres.

Good Luck to all the Athletes and coaches this year. A quick message to seniors, enjoy the season of lasts because in 3 short months 4 years is gone and you'll be remembering the glory days. Take advantage of all the stuff your team does outside of football and enjoy the ride. The squirrel has spoken.
