I would have to agree with the current Coaches poll for seeds. Obviously debatable for the top 2 spots.

I would only use Sagarin as loose reference for high school teams due to team management anomalies. Memorial goes 35-0 in first quarter against Bosse and basically finishes the rest of the game with JV and Freshmen players.  Wins 42-22 and drops ~8 Sagarin rating points I assume for low margin of victory vs weak opponent.

In my opinion, Memorial has its best team since the 2019 & 2018 seasons, with a better defense than both those years.  The next 3 weeks should show that more.  Considering the current game results, and the history of Memorial having lost only to the eventual state champion every year except 2020 recently in 4A, I give the #1 to Memorial. I think the other teams have to prove they can beat them in 3A with what they have shown so far.  It bolds well for anyone coming out of 32.

My bad, I thought we were on the road next week.

$50 Parlay for this Friday night (HH-14, Memorial - 14, and ML on the Ridge)  This would be a cashable ticket on Saturday morning.  Just my humble opinion, but if this was an option on Draft Kings Sportsbook I would have already put it in.

That’s pretty crazy when you think about it.  Go Raiders!

Actually surprised we never played them in a non conference game pre-2020. Especially since they are a little over an hour away I think.

We never seemed to be able get non-conference games against PAC teams.

Remember that the PAC teams didn't have their non-conference games at the front of the schedule—in fact, they could be anywhere in the schedule as they all evolved independently over many years. The PAC never saw fit to have a year where everyone tried to realign the schedules and put the non-conference games up front like the SIAC did.

Yep, that was always an unfortunate PAC scheduling quirk that prevented a lot of potentially good cross-conference games between the PAC and SIAC.

BTW, not too shabby on the radio the other night. I listened to most of the first half. Did you ever think about strangling the co-host?  Just kidding. LOL

Calpreps

Lincoln (Vincennes, IN) vs. Heritage Hills (Lincoln City, IN) at TBA, 7:00pm   [projection and percent chances to win: Heritage Hills (Lincoln City, IN) 38 (98%) Lincoln (Vincennes, IN) 6 (2%)]
Reitz Memorial (Evansville, IN) vs. Southridge (Huntingburg, IN) at TBA, 7:00pm   [projection and percent chances to win: Reitz Memorial (Evansville, IN) 41 (96%) Southridge (Huntingburg, IN) 14 (4%)]

The question is whether these predictions are more accurate than the incorrectly listed start times?

I don't recall seeing any VL posters on the GID all year. Haven't seen any SR folks lately either.

Sagarin certainly has limitations. It doesn't count out of state opponents and a closed SIAC prohibits the connectivity that is critical. I agree, it's a loose reference. It's why I personally don't have GS ahead of MD.
As for us, I would agree this is our best team since 2018 or 2019. The D reminds me of 2019 in that there are no monsters physically, but they fly around and we've created problems for big OL men.

Now that we are few weeks past this post and have seen the Memorial games against Reitz, Vincennes, Castle, and MD again, this defense is really good.  Especially bending, not breaking with only a couple of exceptions over this season.
I would have to give the nod to the 2019 defense though.  At this point in the season they had twice as many sacks and 50% more interceptions.  Brock Combs and Logan Johnson on the Ends were a constant problem for QB's and the LB's and secondary just sucked up every hurried pass.  Long yardage downs for opposing offenses were typically a nightmare. The Castle 3rd quarter this year was an example of not shutting the door a couple times on long yardage and allowing that drive to continue.  Castle made some great plays. TFL's are comparable which I take as the defense up front against the run is similar.  Offense is much better than 2019.

I hate to jump ahead a week, but from what I have seen I think Heritage Hills should be comparable to a Castle game.  McCool and Goldsberry very similar with their speed and strength. One difference is I don't recall Castle playing anyone both ways except one goal line play with Patterson.  I still say this is the eventual result.
