50% more interceptions

I think the defense could have had more this season, lot of PBU’s so far this season and some dropped picks. I also believe Memorial dropped 2-3 potential picks in the Castle game. In the Mater Dei game last week, the Tigers dropped a pick 6 late in the 4Q, but it was on 4th down anyways.

Interesting. I would put Fisher on equal standing with Lindauer at QB, but we don't have anyone as dominant as Branson Combs was on either side of the ball. This is the best group of WRs we ever had though.

I agree with Fisher/Lindauer comment.  Both great playmakers, field vision, and great arms. I think this years overall defensive team speed makes that difference.  Lindauer had other receivers, but you knew where he was going most the time.  I agree this is a great group of receivers.

I found this even more interesting.

Now that we are few weeks past this post and have seen the Memorial games against Reitz, Vincennes, Castle, and MD again, this defense is really good.  Especially bending, not breaking with only a couple of exceptions over this season.
I would have to give the nod to the 2019 defense though.  At this point in the season they had twice as many sacks and 50% more interceptions.  Brock Combs and Logan Johnson on the Ends were a constant problem for QB's and the LB's and secondary just sucked up every hurried pass.  Long yardage downs for opposing offenses were typically a nightmare. The Castle 3rd quarter this year was an example of not shutting the door a couple times on long yardage and allowing that drive to continue.  Castle made some great plays. TFL's are comparable which I take as the defense up front against the run is similar.  Offense is much better than 2019.

I hate to jump ahead a week, but from what I have seen I think Heritage Hills should be comparable to a Castle game.  McCool and Goldsberry very similar with their speed and strength. One difference is I don't recall Castle playing anyone both ways except one goal line play with Patterson.  I still say this is the eventual result.

"One difference is I don't recall Castle playing anyone both ways"

The worst part about this is that we do not have to play as many guys both ways as we are currently playing both ways.  This years personnel is something that I wish we would take advantage of.

Please, by all means, jump ahead a week.  We all know how the bracket's going to look leading up to next Friday.  Let's GO!  Besides, though I adamantly disagree, I'd much rather read about how you think Heritage Hills is going to be just another Castle game for the Tigers, than look at one more Sagarin analysis predicting the outcome of Memorial vs Memorial at Fantasy Land Field. Let's talk about a game that's really going to happen instead.

The boys need to keep their minds focused on this week's opponent, but as for me I can't wait until next Friday night!

LOL. Titan32 was the one who first projected a Memorial v. Memorial match-up, so blame him!!

As big as a game next week would be for the fans, I know all the focus is this Friday for the players. Southridge is a tough opponent for anyone, but especially us because we don't see that style of offense. It's possible some our players played Southridge at much younger levels (middle school). I know we played in 2014, but after that I have no real idea.

😄 All in good fun.  Southridge is solid.  I'm interested to see if Fisher can make it through this one with his "unpickable" season still intact.  As a team Southridge has 17 INT's for the season.  Their QB Justin Leathers is an athlete especially on the ground. They've also got a couple kids with speed that may not show up on your radar depending on what game films your watching.  Noah Wright has been battling injuries all year, but when he's in the game he makes a difference quick quick quick.  Taking all that into consideration I'm thinking the preps from Eville run away with it (42-18).                 Memorial -24.   Take it to the bank 😉

Indeed, Coach B always has his guys ready for the post season, but I'm afraid this year, they will not have the necessary horsepower to compete with the Tigers.

Coach Hurley said during the podcast last night that Coach Buening started as an assistant at Evansville Harrison. I was not aware of that. Where was Coach before getting the Southridge job?

Just to be clear, this info was taken from an older article I found.  I’m not sure of accurate age as of today.

The Tiger Football Trivia question from the Coach's Show podcast this week was "Although the Tigers have never played Southridge in football, they did play one of the two schools that consolidated in 1972 to become Southridge. What was the school, the score, the date and that schools' team mascot name?"

Answer: The Tigers defeated the Huntingburg Happy Hunters by the score of 47-6 on Sept. 10, 1966.

That is one of the best HS mascot names ever...

I believe you are correct. I also learned today that Holland and Huntingburg had the same school song, which is now Southridge's. I was a little surprised at that.

I may well need to make the trip to the Jungle should the MHS vs HH matchup materialize as expected but I will gladly take the night off this week and watch both games online.  Good luck to all local teams this week.

I thought I would post here for our Southridge friends.  I see they have never played Bosse before either.
I have seen visitor fans park in "C parking" and have to walk around.  Maybe its easy access off of 41, but maybe difficult to get out.  I recommend "A parking" and walk down Powell to enter stadium at visitor gate3.

I doubt you get there early enough for "B parking" area. There will be a gang of Tiger fans getting ready for the game there.

If lots are full, I tend to go north and try to find a spot on the street somewhere. Could be a several blocks away.  Think of big game basketball tournaments at Memorial Gymnasium.

Yep, for the SR folks (although none seem to be around), on the picture N is to the right. You should avoid being S of the stadium (left of Washington Ave). There are also plenty of street parking E and NE of A & B parking lots.

Sorry, I could not see the direction arrows earlier on my iPad for whatever reasons.

Should be a great night for football. Safe travels to the Raider fans attending.
