PHJIrish Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 It seems like it's always a hard fought battle. That's trite but true. I hope the weather is good, although I won't be attending. I tested positive for COVID yesterday. It's a mild case, so mild the doctor didn't prescribe any meds, only OTC ones. I sure hate to miss this one. Last season the Irish got out to a quick 21-0 lead, only to have the lights go out at Arlington, which probable was a blessing, and the Irish lost a two day affair. Quote

Well the game will be at Chatard so we don't have to worry about anybody needing to pat down @Lysander for wire snips. Only kidding should be another classic between the Irish and the Trojans. 2 Quote

Just a dad Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 How is Cathedral’s QB? I know they have tall receivers (and Chatard has short DB’s). It seemed like last year Chatard really beat up O’Neil in the second half and he didn't enjoy that.It led to him making a few poor and costly choices. Will Cathedral’s QB have the composure to stand and deliver or does it even matter with their running game? Quote

As long as it's somebody else it's minor, but it's not much fun when it's you! Isolating is the hardest part of it. I'm an active person. Hope to be back in the stands next week. 1 Quote

Will Cathedral’s QB have the composure to stand and deliver or does it even matter with their running game? Cameron Koers is a junior with 3 games starting experience. He's doing a fine job and the Irish receivers are able. Devaugh Slaughter is the best of the bunch and he's average size. Tight end Owen Peterson had a big 2nd half last week at St. X. The O line has been good and I'm hoping Jalen Bonds returns to the backfield. Sophomore Xavier Dangerfield was the lone surviving RB last week but had a big game. That's all the information you get. PHJIrish Posted September 13, 2024 Author Posted September 13, 2024 I wish I was in the Bishop Chatard parking lot, waiting for the gate to open. It's strange to be home on Friday night, this time of year, but I'll we watching on Indiana SRN and I appreciate their service. GO IRISH!!!!! Quote
PHJIrish Posted September 14, 2024 Author Posted September 14, 2024 Cathedral 31, Bishop Chatard 7. The Irish had 3 TD's called back for penalties, 3 turnovers and a lot of penalties. Irish sophomore RB Xavier Dangerfield rushed for 201 yards. Quote

IndianaWrestlingGuy1 Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 Irish Frosh 39 Trojans 28 Irish. Irish Up 33-7 at half and gave up 3 tuddies in the 3Q/4Q with the 2s and 3s. Irish frosh are good. Was surprised how lopsided the varsity game was last night. Could have been 42-0 at half sans Bonds. Quote

Do you have the JV score also? And last week's Freshman score too. This COVID craziness has me behind times. I'm better today after a good Irish win though! Quote

Has had excellent composure in the pocket. Distributes the ball very well. He has made a couple throws he would like to take back, but that is all part of the learning process. He does not force a lot and can be very accurate. I think he has done terrific even in some tough games and he is still has a high ceiling. Agreed on the Irish RB. With Bonds getting injured it has really accelerated his learning experience. With Bonds healthy he still gets carries, but with him out he is getting significant work load and will only go up from here. 1 Quote
