MikeTyson15 Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 predictions and analysis--- Garrett 41 Luers 40 Quote
adambetz Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 (edited) 50/50 for me. Garrett showed last week that they can hang tough and win the big ones in the playoffs, something I was worried about for the Railroaders. Luers reminds me of Dory from Finding Nemo, "Just keep winning, just keep winning, just keep winning, winning, winning." The Knights find a way to put more points on the board than the other team. They've faced defenses at or above Garrett's level. The match up that decides the game for me is Garrett's offensive line versus Luers' box defenders. Will the Knights be able to stay solid in their gaps (because we all know they have then speed and athleticism), or will the Railroaders be able to misdirection their way to Lucas Oil? Garrett in an all timer. And I have the exact same prediction as @MikeTyson15 Garrett 41, Luers 40 Edited November 20, 2024 by adambetz Quote
Komets2727 Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Man, I love what Garrett is doing this year, 12-0. They don’t have a star player, they are just a damn good football team, but then there is Luers. Garrett doesn’t beat Luers. Every time they have played in the recent past, it is Luers winning, usually by big margins. The difference, speed. That’s it. I just can’t see where Garrett keeps up with the speed Luers 35 - Garrett 21 Quote

And I doubt luers is as bad as Knox at defending the pass. Quote
Justasportsfan Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Had the pleasure of meeting a young man years back..asked what it would take for him to go to Snider instead of Luers..he replied "a scholarship"... he is now a senior lineman n also plays baseball as well...I don't bet against coach k in November n they have enough talent to bring home their first 3a semi state title.. BTF Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 I've always rooted for Luers to get their first 3A crown. But how do you root against a community who's never been to state and is 0-2 at the semi-state level against Fort Wayne? Gotta give the Railroaders some props though for being the best team Concordia faced in 2016. Quote

Ok, been on the sidelines watching Garrett up close and it is not Luers speed, and certainly not even close to the number of players with that speed. Look, I would be totally fine if Garrett figures out a way to beat Luers, but they sure haven’t done it in the past. Also, if the field is wet on Friday maybe it negates the speed factor Edited November 21, 2024 by Komets2727 1 Quote

I'll be a ways away from Paulding Road though..... Quote
LuersLurker Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 We Garrett bring a fan base like Luers use to see from Jimtown in the past? I will tell you those were fun nights. Quote
HHPatriots Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 26 miles for a semi state game. That is closer than our semi state last year at a bit less than 50. I'm obviously very interested in this game.....never heard of Garrett until this year and never had the opportunity to meet up with BL before. Sorry, got to root the public school on! Quote

Luers is the only 3A school remaining playing that I haven't seen LIVE or on film. Garrett has a nice squad, as all teams remaining do - but none are on the level of the Patriots. Upsets happen all the time (injuries, turnovers, just weird things) - BUT - if the Pats play their game from here on out, it is theirs to lose. Quote
Muda69 Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 So how many students at Garrett actually live in Auburn? Quote

Six pass interference penalties, the most egregious one that wasnt called, and a defensive hold. Maconaquah’s receivers were top notch, and got behind the defensive backs on numerous occasions—Mac’s qb is young, and didn’t have a very good night connecting. As it was, on the way home I heard they threw for nearly 300 yards. Edited November 21, 2024 by Stoner Quote

Look, I appreciate those guys going out there on a Friday night. If they were REALLY good, they'd be at the college or NFL level. No one's asking for them to be perfect, aint gonna happen. Just stating that those two calls, sometimes bad, can have a major impact on the outcome of a game. That being said, the officiating at the semi-state level and state level is pretty top notch. Quote
