Has anyone ever really cared if Corso was biased? Of course he was, but it was all in good  humor. IU stunk to high heaven, hard to take serious. This year was pretty much fun as well. Herbstreit has more of a serious side, so really not a good comparison.

Kinda thought the differences were obvious. Corso does not do color commentary on games. He is hardly even on the pregame show any more. People can choose to not watch the pregame shows, but if you choose to watch the games, you are stuck with Herbstreit.

Hoping they do the one channel like last year. The view was from behind the offense, no play by play but you could hear the PA announcer.

I didn't think he did. Didn't want to bring it to the table since I wasn't positive. That's really the major difference. Again, I don't think anyone cares if Corso is bias, he does it with a sense of humor. Not Herbstreit. He was VERY upset the last time ND was in the four team playoff and made it clear that they weren't better than Ohio State. In my opinion, it was clearly a biased take. He tries to make it look like he's not giving an emotional analysis, but I've been watching him long enough to see right through him. He does it all the time. Even calling Notre Dame an irrelevent program after 2012. Hell, someone else the other day said Notre Dame wasn't relevent anymore even though you can't count more than six teams that have a better track record than the Irish over the past 12 years. That's just being hateful if you ask me.

I don't believe anyone has claimed there is an on field advantage. 

That said, think about how everyone at that network was going on and on about Alabama getting in. Now think, ESPN's contract to show SEC games is a whopping $5 BILLION. That means they are paying the conference $300 Mill a year. Compare that to CBS who was paying just $55 Mill a year to the conference. I don't want to say it's a factor, but the message going into the playoff was VERY clear about who should get in. 

Bottom line is that bias is just annoying. The lovefest/man crush that Jim Nantz had with Tom Brady was f'ing annoying, as it is now with Mahomes. Herbstreit was bad throughout that semifinal game. If I want to get that bias, I will listen on the radio to the team's broadcast.

I get the annoying part and now that you point out the money/bias angle, that makes sense. I understood the annoying part.  I was just thinking advantage some how.

I actually wrote that and erased it. Didn't feel like diving in. Still perplexed as to why that question needs an answer, lol. Let's just say 90% of fans don't want to listen to a biased point of view and call it a day.

I have a 30 year old boombox and I mute games and listen to the radio commentary, which is usually about 30 seconds sooner than the TV.  It works for me.
