Scores are starting to roll in.  What are some finals that caused you to do a double take?

Crispus Attucks 35, Beech Grove 28

Charlestown 7, Brownstown Central 6

West Vigo 32, Indian Creek 29

2 undefeated teams go down. B town is a shock to me. But the pirates were 7-2 so maybe not so much

Charlestown lead the regular season game vs Brownstown until last 1:19.

Indian Creek was something like a 20 point favorite (according to the Sags).  So West Vigo winning was kind of a head scratcher.

Danville was the big winner in 3A south tonight.  Their redemption combined with Indian Creek getting bounced has the Warriors looking good on that side of the bracket.

They are now an overwhelming favorite in sectional 29, can compete with anyone in sectional 30 and Brownstown is out of the way in 31.

Might be time to start looking for hotels in SW Indiana...

Wasn’t beech grove and btc undefeated?

btc was 9-0. Could have swore BG was 9-0 too

You must be thinking of BOONE Grove...150 miles northwest of BEECH Grove.

Beech Grove was 5-4. You were thinking of 9-0 Boone Grove up north.

Brownstown was never the strongest team in sectional 31 to begin with. Look at the Sagarin ratings, they don't lie. They don't guarantee a winner, but they are very good at establishing a favorite - especially late in the year with more data input.

One caveat though to keep in mind... Sagarin doesn't know about bad beats, injuries, out-of-state games, and matchup problems. If you make your own adjustments mentally using the Sagarin as a starting point and considering these factors you will have the upper hand predicting a game.

Thanks.  I’m well aware of the rankings and though Brownstown was not THE favorite in 31, they would have hosted Lawrenceburg in a contest that Jeff would’ve had at about a 4-5 point game when home field is taken into account.

Moot point now.

I would think it has to be West Vigo over Indian Creek. That’s a 1-4 West Division team bearing the Conference Champ.

Wonder if coach Purcel will be back next year at Indian Creek.

Maybe he can move back to Warren and start Friday?

I feel bad for Roman.  He seems like a nice young man, but his dad is a handful, or more.  Roman's talents were greatly overblown when he moved to this area from New Jersey.
