Northern Illinois was way better than UCLA. And I am not an Irish fan…

Correct but to pretend Penn State cannot do the same (spoiler alert:  I don’t think they will) is crazy talk.

Let’s be honest, Notre Dame had a cupcake schedule last year after losing to Northern Illinois, Penn State does not. At Michigan State, at Illinois, at Rutgers, Indiana at home to start with. They ain’t running the table…

Michigan State and Rutgers aren’t sneaking up on Penn State at this point. Somebody’s—Franklin’s or his coordinators’—seats would be hot if they lose one of those. I would be surprised if Penn State doesn’t muddle through a lifeless win against Illinois, too.

it is efficient....just over 7 yds a completion.  Keep the chains moving with this type of attack.

Wonder if Dickens can teach AR how to throw an accurate 6-8 yd pass??

Seems like its time to let that ship sail and just let the Daniel Jones extension happen and cut bait with AR, perhaps trade to Cincy?   DJ is 28, if he plays this well, some would say his PRIME has just started for next 6-8 years

The question now is “Will James Franklin survive the season?”

Might be terminal, hard to imagine surviving another clunker. Maybe he gets a chance to reset the program like BK did after 2016.

$50 million reasons for this which would be the buyout. Big game James has graduated to small game James at this point. What a dumpster fire at Sad Valley, er Happy Valley…

There are a few things to consider:

1) The BK and Lincoln Riley deals totally reset the market, and more than just the top coaches are getting 8+ years and $8MM per. So this might be the new cost of doing business.

2) We don't know the full terms of the deal so we can only speculate the value of the buyout and we have no idea what the parties agreed to for a payment schedule in the event of termination without cause. This means it is likely that a lesser amount would be due in the near future should they move on, and then the remaining payments would be scheduled out annually.

3) Finally, is there offset provision in Franklin's contract that would reduce the buyout in the event that he got another coaching job, and is he obligated to attempt to find employment? If so, the buyout would likely never reach the full remaining value of the contract or whatever amount the parties agreed to when they made the deal in the first place.

MOOT POINT: Just got a text from a buddy that Franklin is out.

which was their one and only loss, correct?  PSU has 2 now.  Had ND lost another after NIU, I don't think they would have made it.  PSU would now need to run the table impressively to have a shot.

Penn State now has 3 losses!  And their QB is injured and out for the season.

Michigan is down brother, wear it

Eh, let’s allow things to play out.

9-3 still absolutely on the table.

IU wins one damn road game and suddenly it’s “fans” wanna brazenly talk reckless, lol.

Come on now, wear it. I said when Moore got the head coach job with Michigan, the downfall was coming. Dude is in way over his head and just isn’t a big boy school head coach. Michigan is an afterthought in the Big 10, just like last year, and it happening 2 years in a row should trouble you. Jealousy is real, I spent 50 years of being jealous of Ohio State and Michigan…

Moore is an absolute clown. Hell it took Harbaugh 6 years and a salary reduction to win a big game before he conducted one of the biggest cheating scandals in the history of the sport.

Apparently the NCAA disagreed.  Where was that supposed "hammer" I kept hearing about?

Back to my other point, IU is 500 wins and 12 national titles behind Michigan.  Gonna be a long road before I take what any Hoosier fan (spoiler: most of you didn't know IU HAD a football team prior to 2024) has to say seriously.

Set your goals high though, seriously.

This doesn't even include your assistant that was just indicted on federal cyber crimes.

Dirt bag program that had to cheat to win. Classic.

Wanna place another OSU/UM bet?  You're due to win one of them...

Still awaiting that reckoning you've been promising since 2021.
