Notre Dame is out. 23, you were wrong again. Their resume was not worthy as I have been sayin all along. You think it is personal when I have been beating up the Irish, but the proof is in the pudding and now they are on the outside looking in…

Shocking the committee got it right so kudos to them.

Not even close to being right. 3 teams don’t even deserve to be in there.

If you are upset about ND, you have to be equally upset with Vandy not being in as well if not more.   Lost by 3 on road to Texas and 2 scores on road to Bama

You can argue that resume is on par with ND

That's a disgraceful bunch of bull!  Alabama, Jimmy Madison and Tulane in!  As I said earlier, the MAC champ will be the next one to be named to the CFP!  And this proves my point that Alabama makes the playoffs no matter their record!

Oh well, the Irish will get a nice payday from a decent bowl game, and their contract with NBC!

Absolutely!  Vandy and Notre Dame should be in instead of Alabama, Jim Madison and Tulane.  It should be the best 12 teams and not a basketball type selection!  The committee should be totally embarrassed!

The "commissioner" of the CFP committee is on now.  He doesn't have a clue!

BYU has a better resume than Notre Dame.

How are you going to go after the committee for adhering to their rules? The top 5 highest rated conference champions get automatic bids, this isn’t hard.

I know that THIS will be the topic all week on Sports radio...  but ND and Vandy got shafted!

There's only so many schools you should add...but JMU and the LOWER 5 shouldn't be given a bid, IMO.

College Football has to get a Commissioner/President...Governing body and start working like the NFL.

This could be the tipping point.  And NIL has to be reined in.  Like it or not, Kiffin is correct in his assessment of the current system.

Agree 100% on the smaller schools.

Bingo!!! ND has wanted to hog all of the money by being independent and now it is costing them for their arrogance. Keep scheduling cupcakes as again, other than USC , their best win was freaking Navy and then Pittsburgh. Scheduling did them in as it should have

Fuck the NCAA, major shit show and a total embarrassment.  At least IU fans won't have to worry about bowing out to Notre Dame for a second year in a row. This year's champion will be illegitimate. The SEC got their way. Five teams in. Bama is a joke and would lose to Notre Dame by double digits.

Damn 23, how do you really feel? If you had won one of those 2 losses, I would be on your side and the Irish probably would have been likely a 6-7 seed. I love your passion for the Irish and I know it sucks for Irish fans, but maybe this brings change to the CFP that is desperately needed. Get rid of the group of 5 qualifiers, get rid of the conference title games, increase the field to 16 teams, and let’s go. Screw the SEC and Big 10 wanting guaranteed 4-5 teams each as well. Lastly, schedule appropriately. Play a couple cupcakes, but challenge yourself as well

The sport has made exceptions for ND forever.

This time it bit them in the ass.

As I have said multiple times, Notre Dame’s arrogance and being greedy finally bit them in the ass. About time. Join the Big 10, quit being greedy hogs, quit scheduling 7-8 cupcakes a year, and earn your way in.

Notre Dame’s exclusion - which I described previously as being a 100% self-inflicted wound - was a very clear message from the “join a conference like everyone else” people, although it might be difficult even for them to keep a straight face with Tulane and James Madison in the field. Be interesting to see if someone can estimate how much it co$t them to miss the playoffs.

How do I really feel? I'll keep it to myself so I don't get banned for a lifetime instead of a few weeks which is probably likely. I'm on here too much, so any kind of a ban would be a blessing. I'm hoping for two months at least.   Notre Dame haters, yourself and football dork, can relish in the delight of Notre Dame getting screwed, so congratulations to you two. As for IU, really do wish them luck. I'm happy for their fans.

As I have said multiple times, Notre Dame’s arrogance and being greedy finally bit them in the ass. About time. Join the Big 10, quit being greedy hogs, quit scheduling 7-8 cupcakes a year, and earn your way in.

I’m a ND fan who has cared little for independence, particularly when it was clearly costing them a ton of money and opportunities to pour money into football as the media rights skyrocketed over the past 15 years, but I’m not sure what is exactly arrogant about being independent. For a long time conference affiliation mattered for little more than bowl opportunities, and it’s likely the only reason independent programs like Penn State, Florida State, and Miami joined conferences was for money after the NCAA lost control of television. As for greed, that’s spread fairly equally around the sport—looking especially at the league offices in Rosemont and Birmingham.

I don’t know if it’s a message to join a league or not, but it’s at least a message that the arrangement with the ACC is going to be more problematic without assurances that Miami and, I guess, Clemson appear on the schedule with greater frequency.

Maybe ND can join the Big Ten with one other program so the league can split into two ten team divisions where they play nine conference games.
