BDGiant93 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Per Neddenriep, they become full members in 2026/27. Quote
Bash Riprock Posted January 21 Posted January 21 John Harrell has 2026 schedules out on his site. CG's and Carmel's below. First time in awhile CG has no out of state games and its a full MIC schedule. Same for Carmel. Quote

So, Carmel and Center Grove were exploring other options. The MIC voted them out. The other options fell through. They existed apart. Things changed at most of the institutions from an administrative standpoint in that some of the players moved on, got new administrators, etc. There was a mending fences period that culminated in the reunification. The MIC and Carmel and Center Grove realized they all needed each other again. Edited January 23 by BDGiant93 1 Quote

There was a lot of drama when they were voted out. I guess it just took a while for everyone to realize they needed each other again. Carmel and Center Grove back in raises the level for the entire conference, and it eases the scheduling woes for CG and Carmel. Edited January 23 by BDGiant93 Quote

No doubt the best conference in Indiana, the HCC was getting close though recently though, but the MIC is definitely the top dog in Indiana and maybe the Midwest?? Quote

I'm pretty sure the overall series is pretty even, but surprised no game in 2026. Hope they get that one back on the books! Quote

It just seems strange after losing two straight against the Irish. Quote

Can’t find time within conference games now. I also remember the Irish attempting to get out of the original contract many years back and the Trojans allowed cathedral to host games. No dog in the fight. Just relaying the information that I know. I am still wishing CG, Carmel, Cathedral started a new conference or alliance during the whole CG & Carmel leaving the MIC years. Cathedral did not sound like they wanted to do so. Quote
PHJIrish Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Center Grove has not played Bloomington South in the recent past. It just seems strange that they have stopped the Cathedral longtime series at this time. Not trying to get at the CG supporters, just wondering why it's Bloomington South instead of Cathedral. Quote

I got ya. And I’m sure it has to do with scheduling. I would assume the MIC will be moving back to scheduling games weeks 3-9. Bloomington south did play CG last year as well as cathedral. Most contracts are more than a couple years. Maybe it’ll come back to weeks 1 or 2 in the coming years. Quote

Center Grove played Bloomington South last year for the first time in quite awhile. My guess is that both teams needed games last year (especially CG being an independent) and must have aligned on a multi-year agreement. Not sure how long this agreement is...same with CG and FW Carroll. I would be surprised to not see the CG vs Cathedral series renewed soon. CG just has limited options for 2 non-conference games now as far as timing. Quote

I do like this game, I hope it continues. It's good for Carroll to see the best of the best and it's good for Center Grove to get a taste of the North. Quote
