Frozen Tundra Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 1. Floyd Central 2. Seymour 3. Columbus East 4. New Albany 5. Jennings County 6. BNL 7. Jeffersonville This is my prediction for the HHC this year. I feel pretty solid with the top two and not as solid elsewhere but we’ll see what happens. Quote

As I’ve done the last four years, I will be running the 2024 HHC pick ‘em. If you are tagged, let me know if you hope to compete again this year. Others are welcome to join as well. Please note that you have to submit picks every single week before kickoff time if you want to be a part of the main competition. If you don’t, I will still allow you to submit picks and will display your totals in relation to others who failed to pick every game. However, you’ll be tabulated based on percentage and won’t be eligible to win the main competition. @boilerfan87 @LC_Bears_04 @Impartial_Observer @Fkfootball @Olympian06 @Uncle Bubba @Bulldog15 @Owls2005 @LawrenceGreene @billybob @swcgillespie @mamasa @starbacker Week 1 Games 5A #8 Bloomington South at Columbus East Franklin at New Albany Jeffersonville at 5A #4 Whiteland Jennings County at South Dearborn 6A #3 Louisville St. Xavier at Floyd Central 5A #9 Martinsville at BNL Seymour at Greenwood Count me in please. The Floyd Central/Seymour game in Seymour is a huge game. We lose up there more often than not. I'm not gonna lie. Seymour is my favorite team in the conference to play. Even more than New Albany. Just something about that town. Their colors. The alums from there. If anyone from Seymour on here thinks I don't like them, nothing could be further from the truth. That will be a hell of a game. Idc what the records are or who has more talent or what? Quote

I believe, from what I hear on the board and from people I know at Floyd, that this should be their year again. I'm just saying that if they lose it would definitely be an upset where they choke or fail to perform to their expected level. Quote

But I do agree that we should probably win a watered down HHC. Thats why I've lobbied pretty hard for this conference to get better. I want better teams. At least be as good as Conference Indiana. One of my favorite things during football season! 1 Quote

Frozen Tundra Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 5A #8 Bloomington South at Columbus East: Even with only five starters back, the Panthers shouldn’t lack the talent to win easily. If the Olympians are as rough in the trenches as I’ve heard, it could get ugly. Bloomington South leads the series 4-1 and has won the last two games. Franklin at New Albany: I’m not sure what the Bulldogs have back this year but the Grizzly Cubs aren’t the pushovers they used to be. Franklin leads the series 1-0. Jeffersonville at 5A #4 Whiteland: This might be the ugliest game of the night. The Red Devils have a new coach and had a bad showing in their scrimmage with Madison. Their reward? A game on the road against a top 5 Warriors team. Good luck. The all-time series is tied 1-1 as Whiteland evened it up last year after their first match-up since 1972. Jennings County at South Dearborn: The Panthers have a new coach and a lot of young players. The Knights run a wishbone formation and it’ll be interesting to see how an inexperienced JC defends it. Not an easy task, especially for a season-opener. South Dearborn leads the series 5-3. 6A #3 Louisville St. Xavier at Floyd Central: The Highlanders have lost 14 straight against teams from Kentucky and 15 straight against teams from out of state. I expect that to continue against the Tigers. St. Xavier leads the series 1-0. 5A #9 Martinsville at BNL: The Stars have suffered nine straight losses in this series. You have to go back to 1992 to find their last win against the Artesians. With Martinsville on the upswing this year and BNL on the downswing, it’s looking like another blowout. Martinsville leads the series 22-3. Seymour at Greenwood: I really want to pick the Owls here but they suffered some big losses in the offseason. The Woodmen suffered some big losses too but it’s hard to take a Hoosier Hills Conference team over a Mid-State Conference team. Greenwood leads the series 3-1 and has won the last two games. Quote
Fkfootball Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Game Day! Good luck to everyone and hopefully all the kids are injury free. This is also the last time that Floyd Central will play St X so here's to me hoping they'll start scheduling teams we may have a chance to beat. 1 Quote

Fkfootball Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 (edited) I don't know how Jeffersonville does it? 5 transfers on their team. 2 from Charlestown. 1 from Louisville St X. 1 from Louisville Eastern. 1 from Louisville Manual. Every freaking year they bring kids over in Football and Basketball. Sometimes in the middle of the season. And bam, they're always eligible! Floyd Central has 1 kid from Louisville who is extremely good, but can't play until week 5. And he came here last season. Sick of these ridiculous rules. Edited August 23, 2024 by Fkfootball Quote

For most of their existence Columbus (North) and Bloomington (Sout) have been conference opponents, that may play into why they’ve only seen each other a handful of times. Quote
