It is TERRIBLY lopsided as regards North v. South in 4A currently.  That said, this looks like 4A about 10-12 years ago with some stud South teams minus a Dwenger counterweight in the North (as things existed then).

Public schools Mt Vernon and East Central beat the 2019 and 2020 P/P state champions in the regional/SS rounds en route to winning the 2021 and 2022 titles.

No surprise here.. EC could have picked the score. Was by far the most physical team in 4A, and I’d venture to go out in a limb (not really a huge surprise) but I think EC would win 5A as well.  
 

Congrats to the Trojans on a great year and a well deserved title to a great program.

If they don’t lose much they 100% will be the favorite.  Outside of Roncalli I think EC was 2 TD’s better than anyone else in 4A.

They always reload it seems, not sure if they will be as good as they were this year, but I’d say they will be a contender again.

Congrats to East Central; definitely worthy to be called 2022 state champs. Gotta think they will be one of the favorites to win it all next year as well. Don't know what 4A north needs to do to close the gap but I hope my Cougars are part of that solution. 4A south has been on a different level lately with New Pal, Roncalli, and East Central being some of the best programs in the state outside of Center Grove and Cathedral, sprinkle in an Evansville team emerging every year and it's a meat grinder to make it to Indy. Again congrats to the trojans on their title yesterday; much deserved.
