#2-Warren Foster and his family working chain gang Friday night at the semi-state game at Ames Filed between Zionsville - Michigan City. Warren has been both working chain gang and has been the official score keeper for Elston, Rogers and MCHS for the past 57 consecutive seasons. Friday night was his first ever semi-state. Warren Foster is somebody who should be enshrined in the Indiana Football Hall of Fame.

Thank you Coach Park and to the Goshen Football Coaching Staff for your time, effort, and dedication to the Goshen Football Program! It is a special time when former alumni can come back and coach in a community they grew up in. Numbers always make the difference . . . It is really too bad that not more kids desire to play football. However, not everyone is made to play a particular sport. We appreciate the time you spent away from your family, the dedication in game planning, and time spent in and out of season to help the young men apart of your program be the best they could be. Best of you luck to you moving forward and best of luck to your successor. as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007

I was secretly hoping I'd imagined the whole thing all these years! Still a chance to reach some even more rarified air for a couple of coaches this weekend.

I would bet more than a few were there . The administration honored our youth league, TYFL, at halftime. I bet 55 or more players listed on the current roster walked the sideline at halftime that day as youngsters.

Honestly, it's flattering that a lot of threads turn into Cathedral bashing. It's strange that the same wasn't true when Sheridan was stringing those state banners back in the day. I do realize that there wasn't as much internet access in those days, but not much outrage when they were not "moving up." Good luck to all who make it up or down to LOS this weekend. It will be good to get back to normal, and to be able to watch other games during the day. Have a blessed Thanksgiving Day. We do have a lot to be thankful for.

I agree 100% That being said, it's the dark gray/ black and white Jordan jerseys for state I'm told. The seniors voted on and chose the freshman jerseys (older style black and green) for our regional final, and have worn the all green, Jordan's, and all whites throughout the playoffs. All I know is the fans will be decked out in green and gold while Mt Vernon fans will be wearing black.

Bigsky, I'm a little to nervous about the matchup to be making any predictions other than it is going to take a monumental effort and some breaks to go our way to win this one. We will have to play our best game of the year no question about that.

When SF hears "organized robbery" he is thinking of an Al Capone type or a mobster...... (IMHO) AND - Stop using the Rittenhouse verdict as a racist basis for criminal activity........Just an FYI - the Rittenhouse charges and verdict had NOTHING to do with race. A WHITE guy was found innocent when he shot 3 WHITE guys previously convicted criminals in self-defence.

I read in the Evansville paper that there is a chance for a unique feat for 2 of the games. Mt. Vernons Coach Lidy and Gibson Southerns Coach Hart with a win would become the first to be a father son duo of state championship teams in Indiana Coach Lidy’s father winning with the 94 castle team and Coach John Hart with Reitz/Warren central. Hopefully one or both can get the W this weekend…just pretty cool that that it’s never been done before and we have 2 chances to see it happen this weekend

Gibson Southern played Henderson County (Ky) at LOS a few years back I believe…but I don’t think anyone on the team was in HS when it happened….maybe Brady and a few of the others were there because their older brothers were playing.

That’s insane to me. Best pure running back in the area IMO. Honestly, there’s a lot of talent here in the Fort Wayne area with little to no offers 🤷🏻‍♂️

Tango probably a better source but I think in 08 and 09 Hurley/EM traveled to Indy for the team practice. 2017, 18, and 19 they chose not to waste a day practicing at LOS. Tried to keep the week as normal as possible. EM did stay in hotel each of their 5 trips. Not sure there is a right way to do it. I’m sure all coaches have different philosophy’s on how to approach this week. What a nice advantage the teams around Indy have.

Skipping JV or freshman seasons is a HUGE challenge for programs to overcome, especially for freshmen. They spend a season being scout team players and take a beating for that, and when/if a JV game or even a C game, playing time is limited for them. I understand the necessity for doing it, but in classes 4A and above, it can really set a program back.

Soooo 6A columbus north who won Conference Indiana and only ran into center grove 5A New Albany who won Hoosier Hills conference and made it to Semi state before losing to cathedral Kentucky 5A #2 South Warren who is in the Kentucky semi states currently Heritage Hills….twice Southridge…. Opponent records of 86-55….or 86-42 if you take out the losses they received to GS ya know what. I hope it does show because hats off to the coaches & administrators for making this schedule what it is. We played a damn good schedule and faced numerous great teams. It’s come a long way from facing mostly 2A schools a few years ago to what it is now…which is a schedule that is on par or better than with most of what 5A is
