GS will be in 4A soon enough due to enrollment. Memorial is where they belong due to the "effective enrollment" ie essentially the number of quality success driven student athletes in the halls. Enrollment alone doesn't work for privates and it's easy to see (unless you're the one collecting the trophies). GS has an effective enrollment very similar to Mater Dei. I hope I coined the phase "effective enrollment".....it's sexy.

Well - you probably won't like the upcoming statement - but Memorial doesn't receive the same sympathy as a Southridge when it comes to the SF. The Success Factor was put in place for the Chatard's & Memorial's of the world (private/parochial). We aren't exactly playing with the same deck of cards....

I think this was a complete joke and publicity stunt for the Mayor's office to say they made a pitch to keep the Bears in Chicago. Yes, the same Mayor who said less than a year ago the Bears needed to focus on winning and not be asking for a better stadium. The Bears are currently in contract negotiations to purchase the old Arlington Race Track in Arlington Heights. They're not leaving that negotiation table to discuss a new stadium with the city. ESPECIALLY, a stadium that the Chicago Parks Department will own and operate and still not be in the Top 10 attendance wise. The Bears can just build their own larger stadium in Arlington Heights and control all revenue. The other major elephant in the room is that a facelift to Soldier Field doesn't take away the fact it is in a very bad location. The parking is limited. It's basically sandwiched between Lake Shore Drive, a Museum, and McCormick's Place. It's not fan friendly at all to walk to. In Arlington Heights the Bears can build a full entertainment district like the one in Foxboro.

The beatdown administered by the Hoosiers led to rapid development on the part of the Wolverines to go to the CFP. Heck, UM should be thanking IU for the help!!! Don't forget...IU took the vaunted Idaho Vandal football team to the woodshed last year!!! On a more serious note, I was at the IU vs Cincy game. IU was handling them in the first half...wheels fell off in the 2nd half, yet they still could have won the game at the end. IU never recovered after that game. They just didn't have the depth to survive the loss of their first 2 QB's and their line play really dropped. Hopefully, Allen has an answer for the Hoosiers to be more respectable in those areas, or it will be another long season.

They are beyond clueless when it comes to running a Pro Team. But, I'm assuming Jerry and Co. are coaching them along. Lorie Lightfoot also said the Bears couldn't keep the Chicago name if they moved to Arlington Heights. So freaking clueless. She apparently doesn't understand trademarks among MANY things.

Packed Crowds, 40 degree weather, usually a championship game on the line, Sandy’s Pizza, and great atmosphere all together. I wish it will come back again whether Memorial is in 3A again or GS heads up to 4A.

In addition to his 2 NCAA championships playing for the University of San Francisco, he was on the winning 1956 Olympic basketball gold medal team in Melbourne....his team won all 8 games by an average of 56 ppg margin. I didn't realize he was not at his HOF induction in 1975....and only accepted his HOF ring in 2019 some 40+ years later. He objected to being the first black man to be inducted into the HOF as he felt others deserved this honor before him. Nailed it! nfl owners are also getting wise. Jerry Jones owns everything around the cowboys stadium so that even if there is no football…he is making millions. Other nfl teams have gone this way too. The Packers have Titletown right next to Lambeau. The bears are basically land locked Soldier Field and they are definitely moving…and you’re right it is a publicity stunt by the mayor who simply just doesn’t understand how things actually work. as a packer fan…I’m excited for the change because the bears need new life and I want the old rivalry games back where they were bigger games than the playoffs. Those games are just timeless and it only works if the bears are also good. with that said….the current bears front office would have botched drafting Mahomes and ruined him like they are doing to Justin Fields

Yes because last year Memorial definitely did not make it to semi state as a 4A and they definitely haven’t been one of the top teams in 4A. you have my support when it comes to the possibility that EM could be playing in 5A despite barely having a 3A enrollment….but Memorial belongs in 4A and that’s not even remotely a hot take or something unearned

I've witnessed it - several years ago, New Pal was hosting the sectional and Mt. Vernon (which had a new coach) and Shelbyville were slated to play. They go out for warmups w/warmup tops on. When they go to the captain's meeting, I notice both teams' captains are wearing white shorts. I look at my broadcast partner and say "this is going to be a problem." MV was supposed to be the visiting team and their coach mis-read the bracket (in his defense, for years, the team in the top of the bracket was the home team and it had recently been switched to the bottom bracket team being the home team) and brought the wrong uniforms. Because they couldn't delay the game for someone to drive to Fortville and bring the correct uniforms, New Palestine's old JV road uniforms were dug out of a storage room and MV had to wear those for the sectional game. I believe that happened again this year at a different sectional site. (In my basketball coaching days, we told our players to ALWAYS bring both uniforms to a tournament, even though the bracket clearly states which ones we're supposed to wear).

Agreed. A busy railroad line run right through the middle of Frankfort, which a railyard on the west side of town. The city is frequently cut in half, north to south, by stopped trains, up to as long as 30 minutes. People around here bitch and complain about it but such is the cost of free enterprise.
