  1. I usually park in the neighborhood south of campus. Then hoof it through the tailgaters in the lots south of the stadium. Lots of parking north of the campus, and they shuttle bus to the stadium.

  2. Just so I'm clear, that's not the closest I could get, but it was, in my opinion, the most hassle-free and literally free. The stadium sits about a half mile inside the campus boundary so it's not exactly analogous to the dropped into the middle of a city situation you get in Ann Arbor.

  4. What are the odds of: Notre Dame winning the 1st round game AND Ohio State losing their 1st round game AND Day getting fired AND Freeman going to Ohio State?

  5. The two that applied a few years back: Jennings County and Madison. They fit the profile of the conference.

  6. Night games in general. Starts at 8pm, which means it will be close to midnight by the time it's over. If it's a close game you feel compelled to stay. Could be 1am by the time you get out of traffic, 3am back to Fort Wayne. Or pay $400 for a room at the Day's Inn, probably the best bet. Shipshewana for around $150, but still. Too damn late for me. Recliner, fireplace, pajamas, restroom and kitchen facilities steps away. Not a hard choice. I'm not 25 anymore.

  7. This is the fifth season since I moved away, but for years prior to that I never had trouble street parking within a mile of the stadium's south gate. I always used the streets south of the old nine hole golf course that sits on the western edge of campus. Can't say if there are new street parking ordinances in South Bend that will pose a challenge.

  8. The area around the campus has seen relatively recent growth of both commercial and residential. Nearby neighborhoods have been “gentrified.” It’s really quite nice.

  9. that's a shame...put that on your bucket list. Rudy's Dad was certainly a fan....

  10. Ok, I'll take your word for it. You definitely know more about that kind of thing than I do. I was just saying I think it was more of a misunderstanding than an exaggeration.

  12. Less exciting but still noteworthy. Whiteland has a new DC (and PE teacher), name escapes me. Any other hirings or changes among the assistant ranks? I think it's fun to see where guys move around too.

  13. Some nice recognition for the Hoosiers. Congrats Coach Cig and players! https://www.idsnews.com/article/2024/12/indiana-football-big-ten-all-conference-awards-iu-bloomington https://apnews.com/article/ap-all-big-ten-70f57efee17f4ac124d2dfa1241a6a56

  14. Did Warren Central have injuries down the stretch? They had six kids make the top 50 list, and two guys are up for Mr. Football at their respective positions. I am trying to figure out how they did not go undefeated and win a state championship.

  17. Alabama fan: IU didn't have any wins against ranked teams. IU fan: IU didn't lose to any unranked teams. Take care of business. Bama doesn't have the right to cry about it.

  18. One of the decent Luers teams went to play a Toledo team and another Catholic school from Ohio. They played better against the big public school, but couldn't stop the small Catholic school. Winning state in Indiana against Ritter that year.

  19. I love the UNLV playbook on College football for the PS5, if that counts for anything. 🙂 Seems like the right fit, see how many proven players come with him, obviously his staff etc etc Only 48, seems like a blue collar grinder type Did a great job keeping Rebels afloat after his star QB bailed on the team

  21. The kind of administration willing to fire a coach over parents, is the same kind of administration that is afraid to discipline those same kids.. because of their parents.

  22. I don't know much about SE Indiana, but this sure seems like an issue that one school (4A) has here in NE Indiana - IMO- that is EXACTLY what the NE8 would avail to them and they'd fit comfortably in that conference. Yet, they are a 'bit' outside of the conference's travel area and also border the Michigan State line. Unlike East Central, they need to get the competition that the NE8 could provide. East Central should stay where they are, and unless and until the other conference rivals say different.... they are fine.
