  2. The Hoosiers covered the 27.5 point spread quite nicely.

  3. Temp, when something suits your narrative, everything is fair game, but when someone else does it, it is living in the past. Same way with transitive scores. You use them to suit you, but ignore them when someone else uses them. Can’t have it both ways…

  5. That was a helluva half of football; in all phases of the game too.

  9. In hindsight, Ellick should have used their 4th down to run to the opposing end zone for a safety. Much more time would have gone off the clock.

  10. I am born and raised in NE Indiana, but I spent two season coaching in the Hoosier Conference at Twin Lakes for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. It was a fantastic experience for me, and although we took our lumps, I learned a TON about coaching against the best as a young coordinator. At that time, the conference was LOADED! Turns out, we weren't a real bad football team, but we played a whole bunch of really fantastic ones. Some core memories of mine: 2013 - After starting 2-0 the Knights of LCC came to Monticello, and I liked our odds. I had seen some highlights of Danny Anthrop from afar. Well, Jackson wasn't too bad either. And they had some kid that could sling it all over the yard, really good cover 2 fade thrower. As someone who had never coached against the Bombers, I was unaware that the double tight, double wing offense existed in that program. I had never seen a single play of it on film. The Indians show up, and I feel really good about our defensive game plan. Turns out, we will never know if it was good or not because we didn't see a single play of their base offense on the way to getting thumped 45-0. As a consolation, I did have my first wagonmaster that night. Austin Hooker broke his arm early in the season and couldn't play for Tipton. Well, by the time he came to Monticello, he was all fixed. He was an absolute beast. 2014 I don't remember Cronk the in 2013, by by God I do in 2014. We had to come back on a Saturday and that kid was everywhere. One of our coaches during the week wisely stated "I think he would be a better fit at DE, instead of ILB". I agree, then we could've at least ran away from him. The 2014 Bombers came to Monticello for what felt like a 10 PM kickoff. My defensive game plan was no better than anyone else's. Trying to teach the scout team to run that offense is the hardest thing I have ever done as a coach. And the Hoosier Conference Thread! I always enjoyed it. Fun times, tons of growth, great memories.

  11. Here’s the thing. One of the “laterals” on the play was very close to being forward. I couldn’t tell. If it was forward, that’s an illegal forward pass, a foul that carries with it a loss of down provision. A foul that includes loss of down does not extend the period. So, if there was a forward pass, the game should have been over.

  12. #1. A game/quarter/half CANNOT end on a penalty by the offense or the defense if accepted. This is different than Professional rules. (the) Acceptance would result in an untimed down (after the penalty enforcement). #.2 No. Again, an accepted penalty (offensive in this case) would force Alexandria to snap the ball for an untimed down to complete the game. As I have said in a different posting: The call was CORRECT. An accepted penalty against either the Offense or Defense does NOT end the game. In this case, AHS had to accept the penalty in order to take the TD off the board. Since the clock ran out, EHS gets one UNTIMED DOWN... they then scored. Absolutely applied correctly, no matter what the broadcasting team was screaming about.

  13. Let me just say THIS. At my Round One game last night. May as well have been a Cheech and Chong situation with the smell of WEED emitting on and around the field. DAMN!!! It was thick. I am actually kinda worried that I may not pass a drug test if given on Monday. 😗

  14. Agreed. New Pal won’t be doing anything that Cathedral hasn’t seen already several times over. Injuries and who is available will probably determine the outcome

  15. It really was a level playing field back then, even with Indy having three programs double the enrollment of everyone else. It really says a lot about how strong the North and South were before the population explosion of the Indy burbs.

  18. Indiana 56 -UCLA 6, just an utterly dominant win by the Hoosiers. The next 2 games will be more challenging at Maryland and at Penn State, but I think the Hoosiers are up to the challenge.

  19. What’s the record for most threads closed in a season, both collectively and individually? The record is going down faster than my mom Phyllis on the stripper Poe at Zanadus on a Saturday night. I swear to God it is!

  22. Temp come on, how is it mental gymnastics to point out that the game played that year was not much of a contest. I am not trying to flex on Center Grove, it is pointless. They are a far better program than Penn at this moment. Penn has nothing to flex about. I hardly ever bring up the 5 state titles we have won, unless comparing Penn to Penn. I regularly bring up those butt whippings Penn has received in like their last four or 5 outings at state. Penn has had 2 state title games where they were the clear better team, that night. Evansville North and CG. Other than that they were in tight games or getting blown out.

  23. Simply reporting the score of the game I went to last night, as I always do every week. I thought it was the best game in Central Indiana based on computer ratings, the top games in the state as listed by the Indianapolis Star https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2025/10/21/indiana-high-school-football-the-20-best-ihsaa-sectional-week-1-games/86808911007/ and Kyle Neddenriep's prediction in the Indianapolis Star, which was 27-26. Now, the yermom comment shows what a classless loser you are. And I've already made peace with the fact that LC is going to lose to LN next week.

  24. That's possible. No comment on that situation. Merely focusing on the adjudication of an accepted penalty that ends with no time on the clock. Too many people/fans think that HS has the same rules applications as (the) NFL and/or College. They don't!

  27. I'd be all in if I weren't 2 hours away. That will be a good game. I was at Leo last night. The lions hung tough for a quarter, but it was the Dwenger show after that. This will be a fun class to follow moving forward.

  28. Alright, who all is doing the Temp eliminator contest... I am so torn on 6A, do I play it safe with a game I am dang near 100% sure of and take less points or risk the entire 6A on the Southport/Arsenal Tech game for a huge injection of points. I am at a crossroads. hahaha

  29. My father and I went to the Mishawaka v Northwood game, it ended up being more of a game than we expected after the first half Mishawaka produced. Northwood stormed back, had their chances to tie, but Mishawaka responded and held firm in the end. They got a late sack fumble that was ran back for a TD. They are lined up to face St. Joe, who has a heck of a defense and that game could be one heck of a sectional championship (assuming both teams take care of business on Halloween). If your team in not in it anymore and you want to potentially see a great game I recommend Mishawaka/St. Joe.

  34. I would like it known that I do not think Ben Davis is good, just that they are better than some of the teams ranked. and I intend to use them as well as Zionsville as a weapon to un rank Merrillville, who gave up 23 points to portage

  35. You said "show me," and shortly after the North puts together a string of pretty good wins. Now all these wins are an "anomaly?" I once said you're the least biased person on the forum, but that stock is going down. To no fault of your own, you just naturally gravitate toward the area you're from like we all do. Offended? Nah. I've got bigger fish to fry. I do however enjoy the debate. If 21-17 midway through the 3rd with CG stuck in their own territory 3/4 of the third quarter isn't a close game, then maybe I should just quit posting. Ironic that you say I'm the one who's offended, lol. My "close game" and "harder hitting team" comments caused pandemonium from around the donut. True north has 3 pretty good teams compared to Indy's 14, I get that. No harm, no foul. I just find it utterly amusing that you guys get so "offended" when I suggest that a few teams up here can hang with your big boys. Crown Point or Carroll would give Fishers a good game, I'm sorry, it's just my opinion. I think common sense tells you that if Westfield can somehow beat Carmel, then they are the likely candidate to represent the north based on past history. When I look at body of work over the course of THIS season, I see Crown Point or Carroll giving Westfield a run for their money. Sorry Penn guys, I'm not sold yet, rooting for you though. Now, to answer your hypothetical question from earlier: If Carroll, Crown Point, Homestead, Westfield, Noblesville, and HSE were in the same sectional: Carroll 25% Crown Point 25% Hamilton SE 25% Homestead 0% Noblesville 0% Westfield 25% No moral victories, Carroll and CP are playing to win. Anything less is a disappointment. Now I'll go hide under a blanket and wait for your laughing emoji.
