I don't think the towel should be tossed in on both Fishers and HSE yet. Both with Road games at Carroll and Carmel not the easiest of week 1 opponents. Fishers will have another tough week. Outside of Brownsburg and Westfield both teams could beat all other opponents in the conference. HSE has a better chance of beating North central than Fishers does Lawrence North. The Mudsock is a 50/50 to me right now.

Football is kind of like the stock market....it's silly to talk about past success. You should know that in your position. I can tell you who is probably over rated.

Floyd has won like 4 sectionals and I believe has never won a regional. They are average at best YOY and probably overrated this year. Class doesn’t mean anything…they couldn’t win 3A or 4A sectionals over here.

In 2002, when Kevin Tempel was playing, HH was up by like 30+ against SS in the 4th. Clayton was going to run the clock out to head home. However, SS kept calling time out and stopping the clock at the end of the game. So, Clayton ran the hook & ladder to score on them to ensure SS would get the ball back…because Bob’s just a nice guy like that! 😃 The Hook & Ladder against SS Friday night was Tempel’s tribute to Bob Clayton…luckily it worked!

Given NC’s sheer student size, I think it was only a matter of time before they found good players. Although I’m aware Tech isn’t great, but giving up 9 TDs? Really? Shouldn’t be that surprised by Hanover’s win over the Outlet Mall. That school is really going to take off as there has been many news subdivisions going up. Cancel Lowell-CP? Walk into Bearski’s Pub & Eatery and see how that goes over with the old farts. Largely in part the Red Satanists pummeled CP when Kirk (not John F.) Kennedy was at the helm.

I'm not really surprised at the score. Adams Central seems to have the same level of toughness year in and year out. Had Luers returned more starters, I may have been a bit more surprised. If they continue, this series will go back and forth. It could be 5-5 after ten seasons.

@WWFan same scheme but he has changed the qb to more of a pistol. They also (when starters are in) can pass pretty effectively! They did change the Defense up a bit and I’m not mad about it. Looked like a 3-3 stack.

Jeff Sagarin has 1A ratings I think it's 99% John Harrell (or his son now) who is providing the data and just pressing a button. I'm not sure Mr. Sagarin does much anymore besides hitting the coffee shops in Bloomington. I'm not even sure he teaches/lectures anymore at IU. ETA: Both are saints and should be treated as such. I hope the IHSAA writes both a fat check every year.

This should be one of the more competitive weeks in the SIAC season across the board.

Predictor Tool (using Sagarin ratings ... win percentages are proprietary) Ev. Reitz is a 1.5-point favorite vs. Tri-West (no HFA). Win probability: Ev. Reitz 52.88%, Tri-West 47.12%. Ev. Mater Dei is a 4.5-point favorite hosting Castle with a 2.2-point HFA. Win probability: Ev. Mater Dei 58.55%, Castle 41.45%. Ev. Central is a 5.5-point favorite at Ev. Bosse with a 2.2-point HFA. Win probability: Ev. Central 60.4%, Ev. Bosse 39.6%. Ev. Memorial is a 8.5-point favorite at Ev. North with a 2.2-point HFA. Win probability: Ev. Memorial 65.76%, Ev. North 34.24%. Attica vs Tri County - Attica may not be as improved as expected, but Tri County may not win a game this year. 20-13. Covington vs Purdue Englewood - What is this pick up? What is an Englewood? Are the Trojans cherry picking Ws, or could they genuinely not find a team to play. Fountain Central vs Crawfordsville - FC lost a VERY tough one last week, and Crawfordsville won a very close one. ThePrince is probably jumping for joy in Herb's basement that Earls didn't pull off the week 1 win against SM that Herb never could. Give me Crawfordsville in a 21-12 game. NV vs Paris - NV played NC a little closer than I expected. I don't know how Paris is but they got close W last week. 28-7. Seeger vs BC - Both teams coming off a loss last week. Ill take Seeger here in a very close one. 21-20. SV vs Sullivan - SV has an impressive backfield that will be able to make plays, but I don't think their defense is up to par yet. Especially not this week when they have to go up against one of the states best RBs. Ill take Sullivan 41-14. PH vs WV - Both teams coming off a loss last week, but I will give the edge to PH this week. 34-28. RP vs Tri - RP by 1000.

BD's young QB is going to be a great one! Cathedral Freshman 19, Ben Davis Freshman 14, final. I hope someone will post the JV score.

Ugly but entertaining game. Penalties galore on both teams that will probably keep both coaches up all week. Ben Davis lead a time consuming, game winning drive after completely unraveling in the 2nd half after being in total command. Cathedral forced some 2nd half turnovers and came all the way back to tie it. QB play once again appears to be a concern for Cathedral.
