Not specifically football-related, but longtime GID denizen LCCFan09er (Kristof Kendrick) has been named the new head basketball coach at Warren Central. Congrats.

First off, I want to make clear this is pure speculation/wishful thinking. With all the recent news of Vincennes and Jasper joining the SIAC and the possibility of mergers in other conferences, I can't help but wonder what thoughts if any people might have on another possibility. I know that when the Southwest Conference (Southwest Seven) was formed, that the founding members did not want to include 3A schools. However, since times have changed, what would the possibility be of Washington and Princeton possibly joining the Southwest Conference since it is a football only conference?

The only benefit I would see is if they stick with the 2 division idea (big small) leaving us with three non-conference games, two of which in weeks 1 and 2. I totally agree about the field at Washington.

Not much different than recent John Wayne revelations. Probably important in a historical sense. But in all likelihood, most people involved are gone. So justice can't be a motive. What is it we hope to gain by publicizing such stuff. We know MLK is certainly not around to defend himself against such allegations. Should these revelations taint a person's legacy and what work they accomplished during their lives? I don't know. But I do know this is another racially charged issue that could potentially keep FB going for a month or so with memes. No different than, Lee, McCain, or Wayne, why do we feel the need to pee on these men's grave? Why don't we move forward and leave the past in the past?

We’re going to see a lot of this sort of litigation as states pass their versions of “heartbeat” laws. The problem with those laws is that, at bottom, “viability” is not a legal concept. It’s a scientific concept that can’t simply be changed by legislative fiat. If the Alabama legislature passed a law that said “henceforth, for all purposes within the state of Alabama, 2+2=5, would that make it so? Courts recognize this, even if windbag populist politicians pandering to their perceived constituency don’t. Or won’t.

It’s not derangement if it’s the truth. Trump has several pending sexual assault lawsuits, MLK does not.

I would disagree with the article. Just recording herself is one thing. BUUUUUT, someone else was in the video, AND she shared it. Did she have that person’s permission to share it with her friends? The whole sharing thing is a problem as well. She put her friends at risk as well, without their consent. As for the author’s claim that it should just be a conversation between the parents, admins and her is wrong as well. Sure the parents should have a conversation, but it should have been a conversation that took place long before something like this happened.

The thing is: now that Linton is independent again, I really like how the schedule has changed and gotten tougher. Adding Boonville this year is another example of how the days of playing mostly all 1A schools is history. Sure there won't be as many 9 - 0 seasons, but the program is well respected now and is a worthy opponent for most classes to play. I could agree that a lot of bigger schools would not want to play smaller 1A or 2A schools (or would they?), but when it comes to football, Linton is an exception to the smaller guys against the bigger guys. I hope they stay independent at least for now.

Step up! Congrats to 09er. I met him a few years back when my wife and I attended an LCC/Guerin Catholic game at Lucas Oil. Very nice young man. We found him to be well mannered and jovial. He was nothing like the character he played on here. We wish him well.

I think we all knew who he was and he was the coach at Howe. It was often brought up about who his dad was. He certainly bled for his team.
