  1. Unlikely anytime within about the next calendar year at this point. If we, as a collective society, wait for a vaccine to begin moving away from this thing we have bigger problems than football, or any sport, at any level.

  2. https://technocracy.news/cdc-confirms-extremely-low-covid-19-death-rate/?fbclid=IwAR1CaXgp0aCtIsLRFwgUSTeOAwRpVwvZB6n6P3-vU07VMVBq588yYS6knhk “The CDC estimates the death rate from COVID-19 for those under 50 is 1 in 5,000 for those with symptoms, which would be 1 in 6,725 overall, but again, almost all those who die have specific comorbidities or underlying conditions. Those without them are more likely to die in a car accident. And schoolchildren, whose lives, mental health, and education we are destroying, are more likely to get struck by lightning.“

  3. Whatever. Not even Bob Ross uses as broad a brush as you just used. I said last week I think fans should wear a mask if they want to sit in the stands. I respect the virus. But I refuse to live in fear of it. We wash our hands. We wear masks in public. And we live our life. If that bothers you, that is a you problem.

  4. I said this three months ago when this possibility got brought up; the issue is not this spring, but the next fall.

  5. Even though I upvoted your post, @Irishman, I found Death Valley to be quite lovely.

  6. Can you/they volunteer in a harder hit area? ...rejoice that things are hunky-dory in your area? Be thankful? I've seen this comment in other places, but typical football coach mentality/stereotype is screaming through this site lately. Maybe it's just me.

  7. First off, I like the way you think! Safe zone....I agree and I am in Lake County with the 2nd most positives cases in the state. I wear a mask when I can not maintain social distancing, I wear one at practice and I am prepared to wear one when I go back to school in the fall. I am also prepared to play a full football season.

  8. Because I'm a fan and attend both. I see guys at some schools allowed to play both and at some schools not allowed to play both. I, sometimes, see fields that get chopped up from overuse. You should know that I teach and I support as many students as I can, in all sports.

  9. Covid is a disease with many faces. I just pray the medical researchers get their act together and find a vaccine.

  11. It will be interesting to see what the non-Power 5 conferences do, since non-con games with the big boys are how many of them make ends meet.

  12. In a perfect world, sure; but you and I both know it is a reality. I made the school reference too though; meaning if a kid gets it while just going to school; gets sick and passes, the responsibility will fall on the school.

  13. It's a disingenuous question to ask if mourning how someone dies is an either/or proposition. All of them are sad stories, but to draw on them for this particular conversation is an apples and oranges comparison. Car accidents, swimming accidents, and gun violence are not contagious viruses that have caused a world wide pandemic. I would add that the responsibility in the situations you mentioned does not fall on a school or coach; where it definitely will for covid.
