  1. I'd say it all worked out for the best....especially for EVERYONE not named Mt. Carmel. Once the Vincennes, Tecumseh deal is in place, I think everyone will be sitting really good. I think PAC Big/Small will be just fine aligned how it currently is. I'm guessing SR wants to stay where they are, they cross over and play everyone they want to play anyway.

  4. A comment in another thread led me to this thought. Thought other readers may be interested as well. Who are some of the promising young (under 35) assistant coaches and coordinators that we could see as Head Coaches in the next 5-7 years?

  5. Sad to report this morning that Betsy Fouts, wife of longtime North Putnam defensive coordinator & NPMS math teacher Dan Fouts, has posted on her Facebook page that Dan passed away this morning due to both lungs collapsing and the hospital could not revive him. Dan had been battling COVID and its effects since Christmas break and had recently been allowed to come out of sedation as he was starting to breathe on his own more and more. Please pray for his family, students and CougarNation as we deal with another blow to this small community. Thank you.

  6. I know. Though, I am not the one trying to go toe to toe w/ the all time win leaders (Michigan and Temp). 😉 You and janitor boy need to just sit this out. Just correcting your error mop boy.

  8. Michigan has one nationally relevant season for the first time in over a decade and all the Wal-Mart Wolverines come out of the woodwork. Cute.

  9. They signed 3 of the top 10 prospects in the state this year, two of them 4 stars. The in-state 4 stars that Indiana has recently signed have all been massive busts and either can't get on the field or have transferred out to lesser programs. Reality is that IU isn't going to beat out Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Michigan for the top in-state kids. IU did everything in their power to try and lure Curry. They offered Craig and Tanona who ended up at Notre Dame. Can you blame them? I watched for years as Cam Cameron and Gerry DiNardo recruited in-state kids who had no business playing in the B10. Indiana has undoubtedly evolved into a football state but the talent between Indiana and neighboring stats like Ohio and Michigan is night and day. Indiana won't survive as a football program relying on in-state talent. This shouldn't come as a shock to anybody.

  10. When comparing recruiting, we have got to stop referencing rivals/ESPN. 247's Composite rankings are much better, consistent, and more respected throughout the whole industry.

  11. Huge loss for all who knew Dan. Great coach and an even better man. I’m very fortunate to have known him. This one hurts.

  12. Center Grove will continue to be at the epicenter of Indiana High School regardless of conference affiliation, which is the most overrated aspect of Indiana High School Football. Conference games are nothing more than placeholders on the schedule as conference championships don't guarantee anything past the regular season. A program of Center Grove's caliber can navigate as an independent and their availability for marquee games will be in high demand across Indiana and the Midwest. This will arguably make the Trojan football program stronger. That state university just pulled in its best recruiting class of all-time despite going 2-10 and finished in the top 20 nationally. Painting a picture that Indiana is pulling in 2 and 3 star recruits from Florida isn't accurate at all. Indiana is pulling in multiple 4 stars from Florida who all had legitimate SEC offers. I'd rather Indiana University put the best possible talent on the field regardless of home town. You've been a proponent for years that recruiting rankings and stars are the end be all in college football and now that Indiana is finally starting to recruit at a high level you want them to change? What gives?
