$12 to get into Lucas Oil Stadium Saturday night.

one of my best pals, a Penn State guy, was showing me how cheap it was to get in the game.  I think we all know the OSU fans purchased a ton and then had to offload them to 2 teams that are not considered local midwest.  Almost picked up a couple to go with my son-in-law (Penn State grad) but he and family came down with a virus/fever.

But to your point, I have to wonder if demand will drop.  I noticed that in the Clemson and SMU game, the entire upper deck was open.  Clemson is pretty darn close to Charlotte.

Oh man....I just cannot pull for Kirby.  He may be a great coach, but his interviews and sideline antics just wear thin with me.  Guess he does kind of look the Bulldog part......

Not looking promising right now for Beck.....

I was at the Ohio St/IU game and all the OSU fans around us started buying tickets towards the end of the 3rd quarter.

That’s how I scored my seats in 2021, 2022 and 2023.  OSU fans buy em up in the summer as they just assume they’ll be there.

Kirby is hard to root for.  His speech after the SEC title game was embarrassing.

I love this story.

Initial thoughts on the bracket...

1.  On paper, the top half looks brutal, whomever comes out of that one will definitely have earned it.

2. Still unsure how you can rank Penn State ahead of Ohio State and SMU in front of Clemson with a straight face.

3. Gotta revamp this one in the future as it seems Penn State BENEFITTED from losing the Big Ten title game and got a better draw than Oregon.  Just seed it and pick the best 4.

4.  Is 12 actually TOO many?  Though I see it going to 16 long before they consider 8.

5. Notre Dame's draw.  An Indiana team that they should beat followed by Georgia who has questions at the QB position.

How is everyone feeling?

It was obvious from the time they announced the format that more likely than not that the losers of the SEC/B1G championship games would have the inside track for the 5 and 6 seeds except in years where ND is able to go 12-0 or the losers of those championship games get dog-walked.

12 teams is probably too many, but the format would be improved by abandoning the auto-bye for conference champions. I would expect the playoff to expand to 16 as soon as possible, and I doubt they ever consider contracting the field. The conference championship games will be a thorn in the side of any format that gets chosen.

Agreed....either way though, 16 or 8, no conversation about Alabama getting in takes place. Sticking to 8 just might help the Bowl games......maybe?

Saw a tweet this weekend about a potential NIT for college football, lol.

Talk about opt outs…

I would agree with that one....

No thanks. I spoke with a D1 coach who said Crean treated him poorly at an event. Held his nose in the air when introduced. Not the only time I heard about the guy.

Hell, they FIRED Tom Crean despite him winning two conference titles.

He, like Woodson had the talent to win at IU. There's a pretty high expecation there and deservedly so. We're talking basketball inside the state of Indiana. No different than Notre Dame. Forget conference championships, they want national titles. When you get a taste for it, there becomes an entitlement. Hell, Nebraska is 30 years removed from a championship in football, but that expectation is still there. Appreciate the fan base.

Pissed off like most fans from our state. I think most of us were looking forward to watching to state teams make deep runs. I was hoping they'd meet in the final game. Then............GO IRISH.

Alabama fan: IU didn't have any wins against ranked teams.

IU fan: IU didn't lose to any unranked teams.

Take care of business. Bama doesn't have the right to cry about it.

I mean damn, you can't really talk about IU and Army in the same sentance with "a straight face," right?

Depends really.  Let’s use THE TRANSITIVE property (your favorite) and see if the Hoosiers play the Irish closer than Army did.

in all honesty, the one thing I love about the NCAA basketball tournament is that every conference receives representation and the little guy truly has a chance.

The 12 team playoff is much closer than we’ve ever been and I’m not sure how it would work but something similar for football would be interesting.

Sagarin (your favorite), has IU at #11 and Army at #51. I think IU comes within 14 points of Notre Dame.

I keep saying I'd rather see a one loss MAC team rather than a three loss SEC team. If you lose three times, you're uninteresting. I guess the only caveat to that would be losing to three Top 15 teams by less than a touchdown each. Sixteen team playoff, no bye weeks. Just seed the best teams 1-16 and don't penalize the independents.

Anytime someone says they would root for an SEC school over any other conference team or Independant.

Notre Dame pee in your cheerios?

While this is certainly a different IU team, I have been in Memorial Stadium before and watched the Hoosiers lose to Navy.

https://navysports.com/news/2013/9/7/navy_grinds_out_41_35_win_at_indiana.aspx

Wouldn't that normally be the case? Historically, Navy is almost always better than IU.

I don't think you can compare IU to the service academies this season. If you compare schedules and look at margins of victory, it's a no contest.

What are the odds of: Notre Dame winning the 1st round game AND Ohio State losing their 1st round game AND Day getting fired AND Freeman going to Ohio State?

Or better yet, Brian Kelly and Freeman competing for the Buckeye job. Can't wait for Kelly's rap video about the Shoe

I don't believe tOSU has any use for Brian Kelly.  And why should Marcus Freeman leave South Bend?
