The most interesting thing about these games is that two of the three will be on natural grass.

I am paraphrasing below:

• The GS receivers aren't as fast as Jasper
• VL sees a 4 man front all the time so they are very comfortable with the GS 4 man front.
• GS plays soft coverage so that gives their receivers more confidence unlike Jasper who will get in your face on press man coverage
• The GS QB is good and a good runner...he is a one cut physical type runner
• The GS RB 22 gets downhill in a hurry and can make you miss
• GS is big upfront as usual and they once again have a large senior class like past years
• If you can withstand the initial drive and tempo by GS they will come out of it and slow down the game
• The QB Cooper is healthy
• The Freshman QB has played really well and will move to WR opposite of their other nice receiver which will give defenses a problem
• GS doesn't pressure but goes to a 5 or 6 man front from time to time
• GS runs what they have been running in the Hart era and it looks a lot like Jasper who they just played so this has them ready
• GS doesn't play near the scheulde they do
• If they get some turnovers and penalties they will be in good shape

Ok, I’ll beat this drum again.  It’s absurd that one of the quite likely two best teams in 3A will be turning in their equipment on the second week of playoffs instead of potentially meeting in Lucas Oil after Thanksgiving.  I get the issues surrounding state-wide seeding but at least seed the top 2-4 teams in the Sectionals.

It is what it is. If it wasn't random, then there would have to be a process in place to determine the seeds, and people would argue about that. I may be crazy, but I kind of like the randomness of where games will be played. The same thing happened down here last year with HH and Ev. Memorial.

Totally agree.  It wouldn't be hard to make sure the top 2 teams in each sectional are on opposite sides of the bracket.  I didn't pay close attention to the pairing show this year for all classes but it sure seemed like they gave the #1 seeds the Bye when there was an option to do so.  If you can do that...why can't you just take that additional baby step.

But we don't know if the #1 seed got the bye, right? Sagarin says GS would be #1. Although I don't really understand how Sagarin works, I tend to trust that more than human opinion of polls. I would agree that in most cases, identifying the top 2 teams and putting them on opposite could be done. Might be harder in the larger classes I guess.

Do you know if the GS/Vincennes game will be streamed tonight?  Don't see anything in IHSAATV, but the TOC Sports Network that did Vincennes/Jasper last week has on their website, although saying TBA, a potential link ready to go.
