This is usually a real good one!  Last year's game will be hard to top, a 49-45 Irish win.

This has been a tough week for me as I, and Cathedral, lost a good friend.  His name was George Speckman and he had a short battle with cancer and passed away last week.  A lot of us will miss George!  And I had two doctor's appointments that have worn me out, and I may not make it to Center Grove tonight.  I haven't made that decision yet.

And, on a good note, today is the 18th anniversary of my colon cancer surgery.  I had 5 ft. of my cancerous colon removed October 3rd, 2007.  It's hard to believe I can even do what I'm capable of doing nowadays.  Cancer is a terrible thing!

Where's a good spot to get a drink on the way to the game

Tried and True Ale House is a good spot and about 2-3 miles from the high school.

https://www.triedandtruealehouse.com/

South of the high school in downtown Bargersville is the original Taxman Brewing Company...microbrew...Belgium beer specialty  (about 4 miles away)

https://www.taxmanbrewing.com/

If coming from further south, consider The Crow Bar in Trafalgar....about 10 miles away or so

https://crowbar.pub/

Hope that helps Rodney....Bruburger Bar is also close to Tried and True

I didn't make it to the game, first one I've missed this season, but what a defensive effort for the Irish!  21-15 final!  Now, I really need some rest!

I can't edit the score.

Did CG at least hit harder?

The rest of the story is this::

Cathedral D and special teams dominated. 2 blocked field goals and 3 strip sack fumbles. CG air horn loser press box guy tried his hardest to influence the corn fed south side lads, but he could hardly find a reason. 18-0 well into Q4. Harden, Knowles and D crew made it pretty easy. I left up three scores in the 4th. Brownsburg beats CG by 3 tuddies if it ever happens in 6A.

Also, Van Krisiloff fecks. Field position plus D equals success. We coming for the other south side school one day soon...

Hats off to the Irish for executing a very good game plan.

CG after losing of 2 of their top offensive players for the season cannot afford lots of penalties and turnovers and expect to win. Good lesson for a team with a young QB. Get that out of the system now, learn and move forward.

Coach Moore and staff will use this experience and get the Trojans back on track.

If I have learned anything with the GID.  It's that "grown assed" Men FLEXING on the internet about HS FB is the greatest thing that has ever happened.

Ya gotta love the before/after commentary that comes with these contests.  May it NEVER end!

And to the Mom's and Dad's in the stands.... yeah he was holding, but just a 'little bit".

Have to say I’m pleasantly shocked and surprised with last night’s outcome. Cathedral ran and executed a better offensive game plan last night but still tough to watch for stretches.

Defense was lights out and way more physical than the Trojans up front. Not often you get to say that. For as well coached as Center Grove has been the majority of the last three decades, pretty befuddling they couldn’t make any adjustments to stop the Cathedral pass rush. QB going to be feeling it today.

Cathedral was down to one running back, as Xavier Dangerfleld was out, and will be until the sectionals.  The Irish don't have 6 or 7 RB's.  Jimmy Pappas carried the ball 34 times last night.

It's a real feather in the cap to beat Center Grove, especially two years in a row.  That's one fine football program!

How is that possible that you don’t have more then 2 with a roster of over 100 kids

The Irish have only two with varsity experience.  Lots of young RB's.

With Center Grove and Carmel rejoining the MIC next season, once they start playing a full round robin again, I hope Center Grove and Cathedral go back to playing each other in week 9.  It would be a damn shame if this series was discontinued.  Plus, I'd much rather see Cathedral vs. Center Grove than Cathedral vs. Warren Central or Center Grove vs. Pike.

Trojans don’t have that many backs on varsity as well. They are pulling up from their JV. Youth being forced to step up.

CG relying on very young backs, with a young QB. Not sure how much they could adjust last night. Cathedral wisely sending more than the OL could pick up. Not sure young backs could recognize and pick it up or had confidence they could become safety valves for the QB to dump it off. Also not sure what a young QB can recognize at this point. Lots to work on in practice. Great D plan by the Irish.

This is true and confirmed.  Besides Dangerfield and Papas, their are two sophomores one in injured and there are 2 solid Freshman running backs and one of them is injured.

I might also add that the Cathedral Irish Freshman had a great win over a solid and undefeated CG team, 16-8

So what you are really trying to say is that you really enjoy "Moob's" 🤣😂 All in fun!

This is the year of injuries to our RB, I think we are down to number 6 or 7 on the depth chart after it  looks we lost another one last night.

Both teams are pretty banged up the Irish without their top rusher (although Dangerfield and Pappas share time at RB) and also lost 1 of their top O-lineman for the year prior to the CG game. CG dipping way into the well of RB's (on a positive note future CG starting backs getting some valuable reps). Here is to hoping both teams get as healthy as they can prior to the tournament.

CG will be okay as their QB develops. The Irish defense has been one of their bright spots this year as long as their Offense doesn't put them in tough situations or have them on the field the majority of the game. The blitzing is a positive thing for the Irish to help their DB's out. I think this pressure in the long run will help the Soph QB for CG. Now he has some real game experience with a lot of QB pressure for future experience.

Agree....nothing like learning with experience...sometimes watching film just doesn't cut it.  What doesn't kill you makes your stronger.  But giving the Irish full credit...executed an outstanding defensive game plan.  Sometimes you just have to tip your cap, take your lumps, and store it away for another day.
