Wow temp predicting a true north victory in the state championship

Yep, I checked. Carmel is farther north than Brownsburg by about 1/7 of a degree of latitude

Carmel, Indiana: 39.98° North

Brownsburg, Indiana: 39.84° North

I am still picking Carmel, but if they play like they played last night, the won't make it out of Sectional.

Ben Davis' offense appears to be rounding into shape finally. Gabe Kennett tossed 8 touchdowns in the win last night against North Central. Hope the Giants didn't use up all the offensive juice in Week 9.

Temp should rank ben davis

They would thrash a few teams in that top25

I agree. IDK what it is about Kevin Wright, but his teams are always at a state title.

2010 they went 9-2 Fishers won state that year.

2012 after destroying Penn in state the year before Warren caught Carmel in 3ot in sectional round 1. Those are the outliers while at Carmel. Otherwise he was at a State game.

He will likely go down as one of the best coaches in Indiana HS football history.

Westfield followed by CP

Thinking our girls need to teach the boys how to play football, as the girls just won Indiana’s first flag football State Championship over Lawrence North.

Link for the bracket? Who took out Snider?

Could be wrong and appreciate someone double checking my work, but if chalk holds in sectionals 5/6, Brownsburg is looking at three straight home games before the semi-state, which would likely be at CG.

Is there a better way of determining home team? I haven't really put much thought into it. I know it starts with who has and has not had a home game yet. Then it's "who's the top" or "who's at the bottom" of the bracket. All things equal, I think they should look at the year prior. For instance if Snider and Elkhart are the hosts for Round 1 and both win, then Snider would be the host for Round 2 since they had to travel to Elkhart the year prior.

Yes. Seeding.

Interesting coming from the guy whose favorite team doesn’t have a home field.

Why is that interesting? I’ve advocated for seeding (which ultimately leads to a qualifier) for over a decade.

Nothing personal, just found it interesting is all.

For the record, I agree with you.

I like it. But there's only one way to do it. Sagarin. Or you have a committee of seven members representing each area of the state. NE, NW, SE, SW, EC, WC, and Central. The committee is probably the best way to do it. Sagarin would just promote a bunch of running up the score blowouts.

There’s a billion different ways to compute a formula that takes into consideration W/L record, SOS, and opponents SOS and you can call it whatever you want. Every other state in the country has some kind of metric that determines seeding/qualification and none of them use Sagarin.
